Once you mark the best response in any of your discussions it means the discussion is resolved/closed - Do you ever respond to such closed/resolved discussions ? I do respond to these as well. It doesn't matter to me if the best response is already mark - i give my opinion whereever i think it'd count - doesn't make a difference if it's closed one..coz sometimes i too mark the best response right after a few hours - but even after that i get excellent responses.

If I have something to add, I don't care whether there's already a best response or not. Also, on my discussions, if someone replies after I've marked a best response, I treat them the same as I would before. I read their comment, rate it, and respond if I have anything to add. I guess what I'm saying is that I don't really ever consider my discussions closed!

To be honest it doesn't make any difference to me, whether the best response award has already been given, if it is a subject that I want to respond to I won't think ah but it's been closed, I won't bother, because I feel what I have to save is relevant still to the topic and that I enjoy replying and getting my 'two pence worth in' Besides you can still get rated I believe. Sometimes on the other hand you can give a good response to someone then someone else will respond with an even better response! Probably sod's law.

If I feel strongly about the subject or if it particularly interesting then I will respond to questions that already have a best answer.

I definitely keep responding. I usually don't even pay attention to whether the person has selected a best response or not. I never saw it as that discussion being closed, just because, a lot of times, people pick their friends' responses as being the best response even when it's clearly not. I think discussions are about sharing your opinions of things, and just because someone has already chosen what they think is the best opinion, doesn't mean that there aren't any more opinions about it out there.

If you look closely into the discussion it will tell you if the topic creator chose someone for the best response. That tells you that the discussion is closed for best response but you still can answer and possibly earn a plus rating if you give a quality answer.

I respond to a discussion if it tickles my fancy. LOL Basically, if I can think of something that will contribute to the discussion, then I will respond. It does not matter to me that the discussion is closed...because hopefully, the person is still reading their responses and I still get a rate increase by responding.

Of course I do. I don't write here just trying to get marked as the best response - if I do fine but I write here to help others and pass on information as well as making a little pocket change. If I have something to say on a topic that hasn't already been said or may not have all the facts/arguements then of course I will. Personally, I try to wait 2 - 3 days before closing a discussion, we don't all spend all day here and it may take a day or two before someone finds my discussion and has something to add.

Yes i do reply to closed discusions but only when the discussions seems to be interesting and or else i don't go to discussions which are based on very common questions and are one liners. But still i do want to know do we earn for even responding in a closed discussion....??? Please Reply

I think that we still earn from replying to those close or resolve discussions. There are no things that says that we cannot earn from them besides i do not think also that we earn extra cents or dollars from those best responses. Thats how i see it, i could be wrong. greetings. : )

If the subject interests me, Ill respond regardless of whether a best response has been chosen. I don't even know if I notice all the time if a best response has been chosen. Odd thing it, I like to see an old discussion come back to life. One response can bring a whole new influx of writing. I think it's fun.

Well now I have learnt something new. I have probably closed some of my discussions without realising it! I wasn't really sure what the + and - meant, but thought perhaps it was a way of rating other discussions. I think I still have some things to learn here.

Hello. I have also responded to closed discussions. I have also noticed that I have chosen best responses only to find more great responses that are about equal or maybe even better than the one I chose. I'm not sure how long we are supposed to wait before choosing best responses. I have only been here 1 week so far.

I don't think if a best responce has been choosen that the subject is closed. It just means that at the time that was the authors idea of the best responce. If someone down the line says ssomething better then it should be able to be changed. I myself don't care if a best responce has been picked. If it's something I want to respond to then you will get my 2 cents worth.

Yah,If the topic that they discussed is interesting,So why not? I think responding from topics that are intresting eventhough it's done or finish is more good. You can get or share some idea or comments.

Yes I do only if the subject interests me. I am not after to be given the best response mark. I like to discuss subjects that are at my heart.

For me, it's the subject of the topic that matters, not whether a best response has been selected or not. If the topic is one i like, I respond and get about 2 cents but if I'm picking the ones that the best response has not been selected, I'm losing out on 2 cents without a guarantee of getting my response selected as the best.

I don't think it means that a discussion is closed just because a best response has been marked. In one case, I had to wait for two weeks to get a response to one of the discussions I posted. But when it came at last, I was so glad that the response was an extremely good one - well thought out, perceptive and comprehensive. So, I gave it a best response mark. I would have done the same even if there had been many other responses.
