Hospitalization

Have you ever been hospitalized? What for? How did you feel while you were in the hospital? I've always been afraid of doctors and hospitals but luckily, I've only been hospitalized each time I had a baby by c-section. In the US I had my first baby, and the hospital was so nice, I didn't feel like going home :-) People really took care of you, the hospital was so clean and everything you needed was there. The doctors and nurses would really go the extra mile to deal with you. I guess I was lucky I didn't feel much pain after my cesarean. Here in the Philippines, I've had 2 c-sections and I was always terrified because nurses and doctors won't even tell you what's going on or what they're doing to you. I'm a nursing student and have learned in school that you have to explain everything you are doing, so I guess it just totally depends on the person treating you... what experiences have you had and what would you really like to be changed. I will keep these things in my mind especially once I become a nurse.

I've been hospitalized five times. The first time when I was 6 months old due to an allergic asthma attack caused by feathers in my quilt. I was on an oxygen machine. I was then later hospitalized for various surgeries over the years like to remove my tonsils, appenedix and gall bladder. The last time I was hospitalized was due to pnemonia. That was almost 2 years ago. I almost didn't make it that time but I survived.
