For me.. i'm an optimist and always like to think on brighter side of things. i do get depressed but don't worry/think too much and come out of it quickly. heres a funny poem on this topic:-
Little birdie flying in the sky
dropping s-h-i-t in your eye
but you don't worry, you don't cry
just thank god that elephants don't fly
Moral is - always think on brighter side of things - do you?

I tend to look for the best, but plan for the worst. That way, either way I am covered. Not surprised. That being said, in any situation, I will tend to make allowances for others, and choose to make the least damaging assumptions about what is going on. I am also the last one to ever hear negative gossip.

Im always an optimist..taht is how i was brought up. My husband is the opposite and it drives me crazy that the first thing that come out of his mouth is a negative. My kids are one of each. My daughter is a pessimist and my son is an optimist.

To be honest I'm a true pessimistic in life! I always believe the worst and if it happens then I am not disappointed, if it doesn't I'm more surprised. I don't expect life to be a bed of roses, more like a bed of thorns for me. I know that sounds defeatist but that's me! I'm not lucky in life and I've accepted that. I liked your poem.

Tend to be an optimist, however, I see things that just are what they are. Sometimes you might consider something as bad however later they turn out to be for the best. With bird flu now that dropping could be a problem! Just a thought! thanks for this discussion it may show what others are like in general!
