they certainly shoudl be, playin favorites with your kinds is just wrong, why should one child be loved more then another?

Ofcourse in todays world both daughter and son are equal , in my family both have equal rights and equal pocket money, and equal importance.

yes both are equal but in some culture do believe son is more superior than daughters still years to go to answer this questions

NOT in every culture they are not! Some cultures it is bad not to give birth to a son, to carry on the bloodline. Sons are expected to do well career wise, go on to University, whereas daughters are supposed to stay at home and provide for the husband, which in the West is wrong, but who are we to dictate what is right and wrong. Personally I would love a son, but would equally love a daughter. It is also dependent on the family

sure , they are equal. maybe parents usually will pay much more attention to girls. It is my own idea. I have no evidence to support what I say.

I think both are equal.. My parents treat us equally and i think it is fair to treat everyone equally...

for me everyone that breaths is equal ,no prefence sholud be given to a child on the basis of gender,i think its only backward people who give prefence to boys over gals

I think so...im satafied with the way me and my sibling were raised..i guess it depends on the parents!
