Money or Moral Dignity?

My nephew is working in a restaurant, he is tall and very handsome lad. One customer had asked him about the compensation he got from serving as a waiter and commented that he can help him in another way. In the night that customer had called him and told him what he has in mind. He said he will give him money everyday, and his work will be to give him massage every night and something else (you know what it is). My nephew couldn't believe his ears, since he is religious and that customer is a religious man, giving lectures for parishioners. My nephew told him that even if give him $1,000 a day he wouldn't do it, because he fears for the God. However that customer told him the offer is open and he think about it. Given the situation, if you are in his shoe, what would you do? Will you keep on standing serving people 12 hours a day or grab the offer?

To me this subject has nothing to do with religion but with human dignity. I'd have refused the offer of that person not because it's immoral - everybody has his/her viewpoint about what is moral and what is immoral, I know that your religion already tells you what is immoral, but not everybody is religious - but because I don't consider money so important and prefer to work like all the other human beings in the world and to earn money without the help of nobody. But if there is somebody who accepts that offer I have nothing to say, everybody can choose what he/she wants. I don't accept such offers.

Given the situation, I will turned down his offer. Money can't buy my dignity.

I would never take someone up on an offer like this. You will never get ahead in life by doing something immoral for money. Working as a waiter is honest work. I truly believe God rewards those who choose to do the right thing.

I agree with the other commenters in that money isn't everything and I would much rather keep my dignity than to accept such an offer. As for being a religious man- he isn't. That isn't a man of God to speak to another person like that. What a shame, he should be reported. I think your nephew did the right thing!
