Why would people laugh? More like be envious of you! Good on you.. I think the internet is now probably THE place to meet, yes you get the rubbish on here but lets face it if you walk into a bar you would probably get the same! I have met a few people off the internet and some have become really good friends so no laughing from me at you! Good luck is what I say, love is hard to come by as it is, you've got to grab it with both hands when it does come along!!

well, i guess, it happens not to all people. if it happens, it's destiny but if it's not, then it is an accident leading to injury. not all love stories end in "and they lived happily ever after."

Not much difference from being a penpal really. I met my hubby online. We have been married for over 5 years. We are still going strong. Its the best way to meet if you are both shy people. Not only did I marry him, I also moved to his country.

I've heard many stories of people that met online and are married with kids, and still happy together. I would have never thought it would be true.......but, the stories tell me otherwise. So I guess anything's possible!

I found my boyfriend on Plenty of Fish's website. The funny thing is that he lives within a 15 minute drive from here, and I would have never met him otherwise. We wrote as pen pals for a couple of months and found we had so much in common attitude wise that we started dating. We've been together for a few months now, and we're both very happy. I've known quite a few other friends who have met their partner on a dating website. I don't think there's anything wrong with it as long as it's approached carefully. I'm so happy for you that you met your match, lol!

I doesnt matter where u met the love of your life at as long as it works out in the end. I met mine outside a bar late at night and people say folks who meet at a bar wont last. So congrats to you and your sister. If its true love its ment to be.

I believe you can meet someone online and be truly happy. If I wasn't married, I would probably seek out another soul mate and it would probably be seeked online. I would be very cautious though. I'm glad you met your soul mate.

Love can come from anywhere. I think that you just need to be cautious, especialy on the net. But I congratulate you!

I do believe that you can find love on the internet! I did. I am living with the man right now and we are talking about marriage. I would have never met him if it wasn't for the internet. I am not the type of person who likes the bar scene, so I felt safer talking to people on the internet. It worked out in my favor! I wish you and your new love all the luck =)

I also met my husband on Match.com. We emailed for about 4 weeks and finally met. It was love at first sight. We were married about a year later. He is my soulmate.

All that matters is THAT you get there, not HOW you get there. If match.com worked for you, good on you. It's not for everyone, I don't think, but that hardly makes it wrong. A friend of mine is getting married soon from someone she met on an internet dating site. I personally would never do it, but, what would I be if I tried to force my beliefs on others? Republican?
