what is the meaning of true friend?can chat friends be trusted?

Just to answer the second half of your question - Depends on the person. I'm slower to trust people I know only from online because I've discovered (through trial and error) that's it harder to detect differences between how they act and how they taught. having said that, people you know from online can become very good friends. I just advocate being careful.

A good friend is one who encourages you to be a better person and do the right thing. A chat friend who does that is a true friend, even if you never meet them.

True friend must help you when you have difficulty.If your friend do not help you,it is bogus friend.

A true friend is one who as loyalty. Also someone who can be trusted and not leave you out or disapoint you in anyway. imo Can chat friends be trusted? of course they can. Some online friends can be as good as real life friends. if you choose 'em well and get to know them enough. Most people treat people online differently from the people in there life. (i dont) ~Joey
