What kind of dreams do you have (the night time ones I mean).

I have weird dreams, if I remember them. They usually don't make sense. The people don't have faces, yet I always know who they are. Sometimes I'll have the same dream over and over again. When I was younger, I kept dreaming that I was on the Gong Show gonging everyone and laughing like crazy. The dreams I have now are all mushed together. Like I'll be dreaming that I'm swimming in the ocean one minute and then walking through a house the next. They have different people in them. It's very confusing. How is someone supposed to make sense of those types of dreams? A strange thing is that sometimes, if I don't like the way the dream is going, I can close my eyes real tight and cringe, and then the dream is all over. I can't do it all the time for all of the dreams, but I can do it every once in a while. So, what I want to know is what kind of strange dreams do you have? How often do you have them? Do your dreams make sense, or are they confusing like mine?

I have 3 types of dreams... fantastical(superhero), realistic(what will happen to me tomorrow?..etc) and down right freaky ones. The freaky ones are the ones called deja-vu. It happened to me more than a dozen times and the freakiest part was when I had a dream where I was accompanying my friend who was courting this girl and I remembered every line and everything that happened. It was 2 days after that and the same event happened, before my friend was gonna talk to the girls I spoke out everything they were gonna say and they all just freaked out! All the girls were just awe struck and they were cautious towards me during those days. They thought I could read minds.

WOW! That sound wicked cool! Was it cool, or did it just freak you out too much to notice?

I have lots of dreams where I am going somewhere and get lost, then can't find my way back. I'm usually late for something in the dream, like getting to work or getting to school to pick up my kids. It's very frustrating! Wonder what that says about my life????

It depends, is that how your real life is? Or is it all just in the dream?

Oh yeah...this sounds familiar...if I am anxious about attending an event or something, I usually have a dream that I ended up reaching late for it. lol It's so funny when your mind plays that trick on you, (not while I'm dreaming it of course!) because I always manage to wake up worrying that I really had been late or missed the event, even though by now I should be expecting to dream that...but they don't happen too often, so I forget what happened before, so it happens all over again!

You will no t believe it, but. For the last year, I don't remember one single dream. Not only one. It is like that, I go to sleep and when I awake, nothing, not on single dream. And I also used to talk when sleeping, don't do it anymore.

I believe it! We all dream every night, and we don't all remember all of those dreams, right? So therefore, we don't remember them all, so there's a chance that you wouildn't remember them at all. I only remember the ones that happen right before I wake up. If it happened before that, I usually don't remember it.

I have all type of dreams actually. it ussually depends on the experience I had during the day, although I tend to develope dreams after I watch a dramatic movie, and the dream tends to be toward the nature of that movie. For instance, if I watch a action movie I would, for example, dream that I am a hitman and the police are after me, or somthing to that extent. If I watch a sad movie, I could end up crying in my sleep (I know, thats weird). I preffer the scary or thrilling dreams (or nightmares, whichever one you want to call it, but theres no such thing as a nightmare for me muahaha) simply because there are some senses that tell me (when asleep) that what is happening and what I am thinking is not realistic to some extent. I cannot force myself awake, unless something tragic happens in my dream, like getting hit by a bus or dying, so therefore I look at every dream as an adventure

I have weird dreams sometimes, the last weird one I remember is about as weird as they come about someone who had gotten killed and I knew how, apparently and I was afraid I would get caught or something like that, but there was more to it, like something mysterious that I can't quite remember now, but I do remember it did not happen in my home, it was in a place that was kinda new to me, but yet seemed to be a place that I knew...all totally weird! I wish I could squeeze my eyes shut and end a bad dream! That would be very helpful! I remember another one, about someone I had a crush on a long time ago...that one is PG-rated! lol I used to have a lot of dreams about being chased and flying to escape my pursuers or turning invisible! I always felt really weird in the flying sequences an almost physical feeling...if that is possible. And not all of them really make much sense, but some do, like the one with my crush. I once dreamt about my favorite TV show coming back on the air. I still hope that one comes true! I've had somewhat prophetic dreams sometimes, like I dreamt the school I would attend after primary school, and that came true. Some other things that I can't remember right now I also dreamt and they came true. One thing that comes to mind right now is a dream I had recently where one of my friends is warning me away from something that I have been feeling myself to be a trap-situation...it was so weird to have my sub-conscious scream at me like that...she said it so vehemently "She's setting you up!" that I practically jumped up after that and then of course started wondering if it was a prophetic dream or just my mind replaying all the same thoughts I had been having and then coming up with a conclusion to match! I read somewhere that you can control your dreams and actually use them to problem-solve but I've never really tried that. The experts say you should write down your dreams, so always have a note pad by your bed so it's handy when you wake up. I never do that of course! lol I once had a dream where poetry came to me...weird in a different way! I definitely think dreamers are people with active imaginations and I have this theory that one could probably write a very interesting novel from the content of their dreams, but I don't know if anyone's ever done that yet. I certainly haven't!

If I could remember my dreams, I would definitely write them down and then try to write a story/novel out of it. That would be awesome since I like to write.

I forgot to mention my recurring dream about some kind of natural disaster happening...usually it's a tidal wave, although I remember one time it was a landslide of some sort. Those are a bit scary! I really do worry about tsunamis!

I have varied dreams. But I do experienced horrible dreams. Like a nightmare. I am still lucky to wake up. I also experienced sad dreams. That when I wake up, there are tears in my eyes. I also experienced happy dreams. That I wear a smile when I wake up.

Very often my dreams are a mish-mash of unremarkable and unrelated things, most of which I can trace to little things that happened or that people said. Occasionally I dream a long and rambling narrative dream and sometimes these are so strong that I may continue the 'story' the next night! There are some dreams where one has an overwhelming feeling that one has been there before - and then realises that it was in a previous dream! Sometimes that is a very pleasant and homey feeling. I used also to have recurring dreams, where I would dream the same thing many nights (but often not on successive nights).

Thanks for sharing owlwings!!! It's strange how your dreams do such different things. I hate it though, when you can't tell your dreams from your realities - that's when I get scared. I mean, what happens if you're memories end up really being dreams? It's scary to me, especislly since my dreams aren't usually that great!

I've been having some beauties recently. The medication I'm on caused you to have some major dreams. I'm pretty fortunate that they aren't very bad, just vivid. A lot of people on the same meds have complained about having very graphic nightmares

Care to elaborate? It's interesing that you mentioned the medication aspect. Now that I have to take medication to make me sleep, I don't seem to remember any of my dreams. As a matter of fact, it makes me pass out if I take it too early and (according to my hubby) it makes me act weird. Well, weirder than my normal weird any ways!

Sometimes I'm not sure but I wake up startled. I also have the falling and bouncing dream. I used to have a lot of dreams about falling in love. Or about my exes I don't talk to and in my dream we're in love. And I haven't even thought about them in reality.

Yeah I also have confusing dream like yours. Usually it is faceless but I know who it is etc2 or at least I get the feelings. It could be about all weird things and are totally never cross my mind. It could be about my friends, it could be about work etc2.. or sometimes it just have no meaning for me. I could be in a house all alone, then suddenly I will be playing games with heaps of people, then suddenly I have moved to another country or in somewhere else doing something else. It is confusing.. and sometimes I do also have dreams that are scary although thankfully not often. I think dreams are what our subsconcious mind is thinking about. Say before I have this dream where me and my mom go to a fairyland (real fairy land) and then she left me there with all the fairy and she went home etc2 and I cried and cried.. she also cried because she actually dont want to leave me there alone but has to. And I was actually crying in real life it has happen twice the same dream. When I think back for that moment, I have just moved overseas for study, all alone without my parents or my brother at that time, so I guess it is my subconciousness that saying i feel scared and lonely and longed for my mom.. something like that :)

I love to hear other people's dreams. Sometimes one can make sense of dreams. I'm not a Freudian- I believe that dreams only mean things to the dreamer, and one can not just interpret dreams using some kind of book. Each person's dream is individual to that person. I sometimes have repeat dreams. Sometimes this is okay and sometimes it is just annoying. Not all dreams make sense. Lately I've dreamed that I'm in Australia. But I don't know how I got there. It's a new one to me, but I'm thinking that I'm dreaming of some place without cold and snow. LOL

I have a lot of different types of dreams and I think that it depends on what I have been through during the day and what I am thinking about as I go to sleep. I think that in a way we control what we dream about as I believe that it is based on what we are thinking about subconsciously.

My dreams are always weird! But i think this is so normal, everyone have weird dreams, but all the dreams have a mean. The colors of the dreams, the caind of people, that is a mother, a friend, a.. girl, a boy, everything have a meaning. My last dream that i remember it was a girl trying to killing me, its so strange. And she doesnt stop to trying to killing me, and I was getting crazy! Well, i dont remember all the things in my dreams. I've dreamed one time that i'm in the batman's car hahah its so weird. And all the bad people on cartoon was there, but they didnt have faces but i knew then. I woke up very scared :|

In most of my dreams the people don't have faces, but I know who they are. I don't know how I know, I just know. Lately, they've all been about work. I've been out on short-term disability since October, so I'm sure it's anxiety relating to that, so my subconscious is playing games with me.

I have different dreams every night, in different surroundings ect. I always have the same guy that is in there though. I always seem to know who he is , but I don't really. I never really talk to him, but I try to approach him and he is gone. I have had dreams with him in it for over 15 years though I do not know who he is.

I dream alot about my ex-boyfriend who I have not been with for over 18 years. It's not even that I still have feelings for him, because I got over him along time ago and moved on and am very happy in my present relationship. But I guess there are still past issues with him that are unresolved in my subconscious and that is why I continue to dream about him.

That makes sense on the way you analized that dream. Or, maybe you subconscious knows you still have feeling for him, and that's its way of telling you that. Just a thought.

I tend to have dreams that are totally bizzarre and never really make any sense to me. One of the strangest ones was I was walking in a forest when I saw a tiny wooden shed.I enter the shed and the insides were as large as a concert hall and there was a roundabout in the centre with my brothers and sisters whizzing around!

I also have weird dreams that most of the time don't make sense either. I also have reccuring dreams but those are weird too because they are always in bits and pieces. I could have on dream about something where the "story" is all mixed up and the next day one of the parts is continued and so on. The dream that I have most often is I am walking down an alley during the day by myself and I come to a brick wall and as I am looking at the wall a ghost or something appears behind me and says my name is, whatever name is said, and then grabs me by the hand and throws me up into the air and right before I hit the ground I wake up. The weird thing is that the ghost is a girl that I went to school with and after we graduated from eigth grade she moved to Chicago.

Last night I had a very vivid dream , I thought I had woke up and walked into my kitchen .The dining room chair was on fire, I put it out by taking the mop out of the mop bucket and sloshing it onto the chair. Then I looked over by the slove and the wood floor was on fire. I again used the mop to slosh it out. I then spent the rest of the night looking for fires to put out in my dream totally convinced that my house would burn down! weird! I think it was because yesterday I was cleaning house and I forgot to blow one of those scented candle thingys out. I came into the kitchen before bed for a glass of water and found I had left it burning! thats prob what did it!

That's definitely a great analysis of that one. It's your way of being warned to not leave the scented candles (or any kind of candles) going when you're not around.
