Does anyone care about ethics, in today's fast paced cut edge competitive world? Even if someone does care, is he able to survive in this world and still succeed? Af far as I have seen, morality has hit rock bottom, this millenium, what should be done? How can we make the world a better place to live in??

You have asked such a wonderful question. So nice to hear from someone who appears to notice what's going on around them. My spiritual teacher once said, in so many words, that this world is no place for a gentleman(meaning women as well of course). It seems more and more that's so true. I guess all we can do now is simply to try and set an example by how we behave ourselves. This can definitely have far reaching results, sometimes beyond our imagination. Just have faith. As far as succeeding goes...well, that depends on what you want. If you want alot of material things and lots of money, I'd say you may have to compromise your values to some extent. Anyway, your karma is there, and what you receive in life, or not receive, will be revealed in time. Just try and be a good person, no matter what your situation is.

I have many a times caught fighting for moral and ethical causes but found stranded alone, with no one backing me up, I have felt really ashamed of the people around me, but I never gave up, people hav branded me arrogant, show off to insane. But I am never gonna stop. I will do what I feel is right. I might not change the whole world, but I'll surely put up a try.

Pretty good thinking!!..I hope everybody can start wondering about this!!...Most of the times, it seems to be situational!..When people are least bothered about the outcome, they tend to be more ethical. When they need things to be done in their favour, they tend to forget ethics and resort to unfair methods...Sometimes, that works too!...Nobody is perfect!Ryt?..So it is safe to say that noone is being 100% ethical...The point is..when u r being ethical, you are eventually the benefactor. You must realize that you are the good ones benefit, and the bad ones suffer!...What you receive is based on whether you've been gud or bad!!!...I end up saying that if u r a pretty clean person respecting your values, then being ethical is more beneficial to you!...Ofcourse,it's very important in today's greedy world!!

You are being an opportunist. If something does not affect you, then you being ethical is natural. But the real question is when you put yourself at stake. And you should do it without thinking about the consequences. Don't try to lure your own consience, by giving false arguments like "Nobody's perfect". You should not do something that wil make you stand head down in front of your own children.

that is a very good question..and the truth is the world is no more ethical than it was before something liek ethics existed. It's a pity everybody is out to get somebody or the other and there is no peace. No honest means, its always the hook or crook method. We as individuals can do small things in our own way but who can set right the world at large? We just gotto accept it and things will fall in place eventually ( I hope!)

But, what you say happens, during the transition time which side would we back? If we also take unethical means, the transition is never gonna take place. If we show guts then we have to face resistance. What say?
