some filipinos want to have whiter skin and so they use whitening products. while some white people would go to the beach or buy tanning products to get a tan! crazy! so do you wanna be darker or whiter? or are you one of the few who is quite content with their skin tone? me, whiter!

I have been thinking of buying glutathione capsules but a lot of my friends told me i have fair skin already..i really dont know maybe because when im here in the philippines, people always like to be pale but when im abroad i tend to sunbathe a lot because they like tanned or the bronze look there.

You know I also tried glutathione for a month, I have fair skin too and I barely noticed the effect on my skin. It's too expensive for me so I quit. But if you'll ask me, I prefer a whiter complexion, because of the trend here.

there are a lot of brands of glutathione brands and i'm afraid to try any of them because of the side effects they might have. plus the fact that they are expensive.

It's really evident that it's rare to find someone who is satisfied with what he/she has, including skin color. We would always opt for the opposite. Before, I liked to be whiter (I'm also a Filipino). Now that I'm in the U.S., my co-workers (all Whites) would always tell me that they wanted my skin color. I have then learned to appreciate my being brown. I guess had I not worked here in the U.S., I'd still be considering using a whitening product!

i guess Filipinos in the US are more appreciative of their own color because of the compliments they get from White people. here, very few will compliment a brown-skinned person about his/her complexion because almost all have the same skin tone. lol. i noticed a lot of Filipino-Americans who visit here are very proud of their tan and maybe that's one of the reasons.

Personally, I prefer my skin tone. I have no plans of taking any measures to make my skin darker or whiter for the matter. I have a sun-kissed complexion, the typical Filipina complexion. My skin tone is similar to Angel Aquino's skin. I don't have the model type of skin but I love the skin I have. Just a proper hygiene and enough moisturizer is my only regimen for my skin. I'm not in the trend to hve a fairer skin to be considered beautiful. Nowadays, Filipinas are driven by Westernized thinking regarding the state of being beautiful, that is, having fair skin. But I'm not into that trend. As long as I'm confident with what I have, It is fine with me.

actually, it depends on the mood and the season. when it's summer, i want my color to be tanned. but when it's december, i hope that i would be whiter. nonetheless, i want a smoother skin be it white or dark.

me too. my top priority is an even skin tone, whether i'm tan (like i am now) or fairer. the problem with a lot of whitening products is they're not skin-friendly. they make my skin dry. so i would stop using them and switch back to brands that are not for whitening but mainly moisturizing. but then a new whitening product always comes out in the market and i just can't resist to try it... :)

im ok being brown as long as i have same skin color all throughout. which i dont! that's why i still use whitening products on those parts but so far none have worked.

just like you, i wanna be whiter. i tried lots of whitening products just to get a whiter complexion. and it was really really expensive. but that was me before i met my boyfriend. my boyfriend made me feel comfortable with my skin color. he loves me the way i am and there's no need for me to extend so much efforts to make my skin whiter. all i do now is take care of my skin and moisturize it to keep it healthy.

I am content with my color. I am olive skinned. When I was younger I used to want to have a white skin so I regularly used whitening lotions with hyrquinone and other harsh ingredients that damage the skin. Over the years I have learned to accept that I can never be white skinned and I no longer want to torture my skin by using harsh products. What matters to me is that no matter what our skin color the best skin is one that is clean and blemish free.

Ah ah ah ah Emilysdabomb, you are right, how crazy people can be.... I'm one of the few who is quite content with my skin tone. I'm Italian and my skin is white, but every Summer I go to the beach because my son is 7 and he needs sun, sun is very important for people, above all for children, and so I "have" to go to the seaside, I don't like much, but I'm forcedo to go there because of my little son. So, at the end of the Summer my skin becomes darker, I like it, but I never use tanning products, I let Nature to work on me.

I am tan already and I like it that way. My husband is white pale British and he likes tan skinned woman, that's one of the reasons why he married me. I like JLo's skin so much, it's tan and well taken care of. She looks good in anything she wears plus I like her body. I also like Jessica Alba.

I wonder about this myself too. Filipinos tend to go the extra miles just to achieve whiter skin. To me, Filipinos have beautiful skin. I have a very fair complexion. Though, people around me envied my skin, I still have to take care of it properly. My skin are immune to freckles. But I'm very content with my coloring. Anyway, to ease up your doubt about glutathione, it is actually a good antioxidant that helps to cleanse our liver. I'm aware of a lot of people selling glutathione. But be careful, there are a lot of fake there. The maximum dosage you should take is 250mg a day only. People thought taking more than 250 mg will speed up the whitening effect of your skin. Totally untrue. If you have some more questions about glutathione, PM me. And no, I'm not selling any glutathione.

i did take glutathione capsules for 5 months (this was more than a year ago) but i didn't notice any lightening on my skin tone. there are a lot of expensive brands but i chose the not-so-pricey one. and i got it from a company that imports a lot of supplements and vitamins from the States (maybe i got a fake one) i didn't know there should be a maximum dosage of this antioxidant. thanks for this info. :)

I am for the white race. But still it depends upon the preosn viewing it. IF she or he thinks that black is beautiful or whites are more alluring then I'll respect their opinions.

Isn't it strange how people just seem to never be content! I am very fair skinned and sunburn very easily. I do not tan so there is no use my trying. I am trying to learn to be happy being this pale, but I confess that in the summer months I will use some of the lotions that temporarily darken the skin. I use this on my legs so that when I wear short I don't blind people with the glare coming off my skin!!
