This really is life!

Do you ever sit and take a moment to think and really realize that this is life! You are really here and this is your life and that you won't be here forever. That is so weird to me. I mean, really sit and think about it. Look around you. This is it! Enjoy it. As I have seen, time goes by so quickly. I like to try to enjoy the present, plan for the future, but not worry about it. What about you? do you ever think about that this is really life?

This happens to me occasionaly and it's so freaky. If you really think about it--it's like you have this one chance & once your gone.. it's over. & then I always end up going into the afterlife & were we are until the world ends. It's so unimagineable. Then I quit thinking about it & realize I better start living it.. because we won't be here forever.

I know... That's why I think people should really make the most of everything. No one really knows what happens after this.

I get moments like that, but I try and avoid them because they just fill me with dread and worry that one day I will not be here and it scares me. Not to be here to know the things I know and feel the things I feel. Its just a very scary thought to me and one I really try and avoid.

I often do that like you. actually, I gone through alot in life, the struggles,hardships..and so on. But after those experiences i often find myself just looking aroung and saying wow..this is life,my own life. and I can say I now enjoy the way my life is. I realized that my past experiences taught me that life is really like a journey and all i can say is JUst enjoy the ride. and every travel we do is just a one way and we cant turn back once we crossed it.

Oh yeah I get those too! Not all the time, but I find they usually come when you're doing something really mundane, or just sitting looking at the world go by. You know what really does it for me? Looking up at all those stars in a clear night sky...

Yes, I know what you mean. I love looking at the stars as well.

Sometimes I do sit and think that I spend so much time doing things for the future, like planning things, saving money and educating the kids that I don't get time to appreciate the here and now.

that's too bad. I think it is good to be prepared, but you can't really prepare for everything.

Yeah, it is the oldest problem, and people ask it again and again. We caome here for a short time, and we will leave the world in certime in future, it make some people feel horrible, and don't want to leave the world. but it will happen no matter what you think about. I think we can enjoy the life by helping the other, we wil get the life meaning if we help some people have a better life.

I totally agree. I didn't start this discussion to make people feel depressed. I just wanted to know who else things about it. When I think about life it is not necessarily in a bad or scared way. It just makes me realize that yeah, no matter what, we won't be here forever and we need to life life to the fullest and help others do the same.

Yes! I think about it. I am 61 years old. And I think, "If I could just do this again...." I have come to the conclusion that it is not where we have been, but where we are going. Since we cannot freeze the moment nor can we catch up on sleep we should "redeem the time". Make the best of every moment. Oh! And don't work hard, just work smart!

great advice. Thank you. So, if you could do something again and do it differently what would you do?

Thats an interesting question, and undoubtedly, it has been troubling the minds of people all over the world, of both sexes, and of all ages... the answer to it is, that there simply is no single definition of life. Our daily experienxes usually culminate in this thing that we call life.It is so very difficult to find any real meaning from these. Is there a different way to live??OFCOURSE!!!it's all up to you..unfortynately we are all worried about whether we will be ablw to get back to our former lives..but the truth is, that we are the only people capable of changing out lives. Instead,we settle down, into an unwholesome stagnation, and fail to recognise the subtly whispers of nature around us.we become deaf, to the voices of our hearts, and oblivions to our own traps, the only things holding us back..and soon, we start naming pinnacles, zenniths in our lives ,events only slightly more deserving of our attention than our daily existance. IT IS TIME TO BREAK FREE OF THIS ALL.If you really care about doing something with your life, get out!!go exploring!!quit your job, and do something that you are really interested in..take a sabatical...visit old age homes!!run a health drive in your neighbourhood!!!THE LIST IS ENDLESS!!!THE WORLD IS WAITING!!WHERE ARE YOU???CHANGE YOUR LIFE BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE!!!

Great post. I so agree with you. You know what, since all of the tragedies that I've faced, I really started to focus on nature. It's so calming to watch the birds in the garden or take photos. Changing things can be hard, but the way to look at it is if it fails, or the change doesn't live up to our expectations, then we are free to move on and try again. Life is all about learning. For some people work is their be all and end all, one day those people to will face difficulties and wonder, where did my life go. One day it will be too late.

I once read a science fiction book and at the beginning of each chapter there would be a "quote" by one of the characters in the story. The one that struck me and I have kept for myself was, "life is not a mystery to solve, it is a reality to experience." Wow, what could be more truthful than that? We look to solve life when it is just there to be lived. If you take each day as a new experience you find it is a true adventure.

That is a cool quote. I love it! I'm going to write that one down. Thanks for sharing it.

Life does pass us by so quickly. In my case, I'm a family man with a wife and 2 kids (and another one coming soon). I am thankful that I have this beautiful family around me. I don't know what I did in life to deserve such a blessing.

That is nice that you try and get others to smile. I don't believe each day is getting worse. I believe each day is what you make it. I you think positive thoughts, positive things will happen.

every one , in his life had done this kind of question! why we live? what is life? god exist really? what there is after life? and all other metaphisical question. the pint is one.: that we aren' able to ask it, i don't know wht but we can't reach the truth, pheraphs someone don't want us to know it, or simply we are really unusless in the indefinit space of galaxxes.we must live and than die, this is our function!.

It`s obvious that such feelings arise when we are not cleansed in our thoughts. All we need to do is sit back, and meditate. I agree with you that life is temporary. But, life is not to be wasted. We ARE born with a purpose, absolutely defined by god. What he thinks to make of us, is what we are. Even our very body, that sticks around "ThySelves" is finally lost. Hence, just like you train your brain, people around you, animals, etc., you must also learn to train your soul for the betterment of your Self. Enjoy the path to Gnyana(Ultimate Knowledge)!!

hmm we all do get these thoughts once in a while i guess.when you sit and think about it it feels so crazy,in this small time gap there is so many awful things ,short lived happiness and all sorts of emotions we go through.why cant we all try to be hapy in this small period instead of all the fighting and worrying.if everyone starts thinking that this is the way it is and should be the world will definitely be a different and a better place for all to live in.

Do you know what, I 100% agree with you. I've lost a sister to still birth, a brother to a genetic disease and almost another brother to the same condition. Along the way I've also lost grandparents and friends. I'm 27 and a bit depressed by life actually. I don't know how, but I managed to graduate from university and I fell into a job where I've worked really hard for almost 7 years. Unfortunately the job hasn't been easy and the management style made it all worse. So I took a decision to leave. My main reason was that, just like you say, THIS is life, it's happening, and it's going and it's just so important to be with the people you love and care about, over and above everything else. Everyone needs money, I will certainly need money since I'm not from a rich background at all, but I just have this deep feeling that I am the lucky one out of my brothers and sister. I don't know why. But I am. I can't be unhappy at work when i should be out doing things, experiencing things and living a life that was cruely taken from them. Sorry if this is a bit of a moody message, but you are so right. You REALLY REALLY never know what is round the corner, you never know what the next day will bring. Wouldn't it just be so awful to have to face something tragic with the knowledge of having so many regrets about the mundane things in life like work. Be happy, and live the life you have and enjoy as much of it as you can.

I do sit and think about life and how short it is, and wonder if I am on the right path and realize that all paths will lead to where I am supposed to be. Its weird to think as I do that I can and wont be here forever. I really dont want to ever leave my kids and grandkids. This is such a good topic sweetie!
