Do you use alcohol to numb your pain?

Right now, yes. I am off my face drunk, trying to forget about all the bad things in my life. I know it isnt responsible, I know it isnt right, but havent you ever got to a stage when you have had enough and dont know wat to do? That is me...right this second. Hoping I make sense. Hoping I dont get negatives for my pain and my ways of dealing with it. Ive tried to be strong, but now... I jsut want the worls to stop, just for a minute, just to catch my breath...y'know?

No, because that's just pathetic. Why not use real therapy, like listening to music or going out with friends? Drinking is only going to make it worse in the long run. I swear, some people just don't think.

Sometimes you have to be mean to get a point across to someone.

Yeah it may be the wrong way to go about it but you will do it the way you NEED to and this doesn't necessarily mean the right way. If this moment makes you feel better then no worries. Don't let people tell you how bad it is, because you already know that. Grief is such a thing that there is never a right answer when figuring out how to manage it. For each it is different. Some people can only feel better by the bottle but others will find another way. I hope that you will find your way through it and come out better. :)

Hey megs :D This may get me a backlash but I don't think there's anything wrong w/ it. Now, I'm not advocating getting drunk everyday but if you've had a bad day & things are rising up in your head you know one of those days where everything from anytime is bothering you I think it's okay to get drunk & passout then start fresh tomorrow. I hope you're feeling better now ;) +'s 4 U :)

Yes, I know and I am sorry about what you're going through. Life is just that way sometimes and I wish that we don't have problems in our lives and just live a happy life forever. So, just hang in there because bad things don't last forever. They do change into something good eventually.

I used to... when I was younger. I was a coward. Now that I'm older, I learned that the only way to ease the pain is to face it and never run away from it.

Yes, I do. Sometimes it helps, as you forget your problems while drinking. But after I'm sober again the world seems to go crashing down on me faster than before. I know it's a bad habit, but I find peace and solitude, even for a moment.

I can understand when your going thru bad things, but I keep in mind that no matter if I drank a lot to forget troubles, they'd still be there when I sobered up! I hope things get better for you!

Yes I have very recently done this. I probably shouldn't have done it but sometimes it seems like the only way out for a short while. Its like you want to do anything to be able to escape your own life for a little while. The pain might be back tomorrow but right now you feel alot better. It helps keep you sane to do it every once in a while. Just a small way to escape.

I don't because alcohal makes everything worse for me. It makes me feel really sick and dizzy. Maybe one day i'll get to the stage where i will be able to drink a lot of it but i hope not.

yes some times i do use it , i mean i do drink ,because atleast it makes us forget our feeling or our sad stories and it gives us a good sleep also , but it cant be the permanent and once we will have to wake up and will have to make the adjustments with our life . dont worry be happy.

I haven't and I'll never will. I work on focusing my pain onto other things so I don't get to a point where I have to turn to other things to feel better. I used to cope with pain in other ways and they were pretty destructive as well. However, I've moved away from that on to better ways of coping.

I always drink whenever i was in the pain, it is the great way for me to numb the pain. I cant endure the intense pain my grandpa thought me to do it.
