Thanks for the heads-up on this one, inked4life! I don't "do" horror movies (as I'm a certified "big baby" LOL) but my sister loves them and she was just mentioning "The Messengers" this morning. Mind you, I think she said she was going to wait and see it as a rental -- perhaps, in that case, it won't be such a big loss.

waiting for rental may be the best idea as I have a feeling there will be a directors cut of this one...it looked to me like the studios wanted it kept fairly light so the teenage crowd could go see it.

I thought the trailer was great too and had actually read an article about it in Rue Morgue (a horror magazine), and it sounded really interesting. It's like a really watered down version of The Grudge (very similar plotline too) and the scenes with the ghosts are ALL shown in the trailer...about 2 minutes of screentime total

AW NO WAY!!! man that so sucks! I thought that it was goin to be a good one (finally...we're definately due for a good horror flick thats for sure)....What a drag..

Thanks for the warning. Its so costly to see a movie these days that I don't want to see a bad movie. The trailers sure have looked good.

omg. i was hoping it would be a good movie. i heard it wasn't bad from another user, but that person also liked amityville horror. i hated that movie and she said it was like that movie. too bad. thanks for the heads up.

That's too bad. I am glad you alerted us, as my teens and I wanted to go see this movie. We are not into the watered down junk, we want the type of horror flick that causes soiled 'drawers,' profuse sweating, racing hearts, dilated pupils and a propencity to looking over one's shoulders for the next few weeks!

i wasnt planning to watch it.. but d trailer seemed interesting. but yea thanks for reminding us. maybe i'll just take a look wen d dvd comes out and rent it.

if you're looking for a decent new horror movie to watch, try renting "Altered"...it's a low budget alien flick with lots of good gore and a decent storyline. Made by the same guy that directed Blair Witch

I have never read about The Messengers before this, thanks for posting about this worse horror movie, I will be avoiding it if I cam across this movie.
But in imdb.com it has a good review, seems kind of interesting ....

I watched it. It is horrible indeed. But the girl there kinda looks like the bella from twilight. Is she the one in messengers? haha
