Would you Invite a Stranger In

If a stranger came to your door and asked to use your phone because his/her car broke down, would you invite them inside to wait for a tow, or make them wait outside?

If I am alone in the house, I wouldn't invite them in but I'll bring them hot chocolate or something when it's cold. They can wait in their car I guess. If my husband is in the house, I will probably let them in. I heard scary things around the neighborhood so I have to be very careful.

It would depend on a lot of things. If it was a mom and her kids, yeah, I would probably let them in. If it was a man, and I was alone - no, never. Even if he looked like the nicest guy in the world. BUt then again, we have 4 big dogs, and most people probably wouldn't WANT to come in. I would bring them something to drink, and a blanket if it was cold, and I would wait outside with them. I have a cell phone, so they dont have to come in my house... You can't be too careful, but you can still be kind and generous.

i would make them wait outside. if i was in there situation i wouldnt expect for a person to invite me in and even if they did i would wait outside for my own safety. i watch too many things on people getting murdered and raped because of stuff like that. you can never be too safe.

I wouldn't. I don't let anyone in my house and I had some salesman demand to sit down and talk to me so I walked outside and sat down on the steps ;) I have little kids and I don't want people in my house. Unfortunatly, you can't trust people anymore.

I would not let them in the house because you have no idea who you are dealing with. I would offer to call the tow company for them but that would be it. This world has gotten crazy and unfortunately, there are a lot of criminals who think of a lot of ways to get in your house for who knows what reason.

in today's society unfortunately, I would have to say no. I've just seen on the news to many times where people are killed from such an act of kindness.

I used to not be afraid of things like that and i'd let anyone in but now that i have a daughter i'm more cautious. i don't want anything to happen to her or even me cause if i'm not who will take care of her. so anyway there is no way i'd let anyone in. you can't seem to trust anyone anymore these days. if someone is really in need of a phone i'd ask them to back away i'd through a cordless out and shut the door til they leave.

I dont really know and cant say it for sure. But, I will look at his/her appearance be cautious about it. you never know if it is actually someone just pretending to do that just to raid your house or something. So, I might let them in or call for him/her and ask her/him to wait outside. If they look so suspicious, I probably will call the police. that is my last resort.

No, I wouldn't let them in, if it was a man and I was home alone. If it was a family or a woman I would, but I would be very cautious. These day and age you just don't know.

I would bring them the cell phone to make the call and have them wait on the porch (or in their car). I wouldn't even feel bad about it unless it was really really cold and nasty out. Then I might feel a little bad, but I still wouldn't let them in if I was home alone, even if it was a woman. Fortunately,my dog always raises a huge fuss when strangers knock on the door and looks pretty fierce barking through the window, so most people don't want to come in. Even though my dog is really a big sweetie, I let his "dangerous" reputation stay, because it is a great security addition.

I would let them in. I do not think they would do anything when they saw my weapon displayed. Heck at least it would be some one to talk to. ^_^

I would play safe and just ask the stranger to wait by the patio. Atleast he is not inside my home. If he needs to use the phone, perhaps I can just get the number he wants to call and I will call for him. It's scary to let strangers in your home. Whether they are psychos wanting to slash your throat or a kind stranger I will not let them in. It's better to be safe than sorry.

Considering the way the world is going, I would not invite them in. I would take the phone outside to them. We have some pretty strange looking characters here. So, I would be careful on who I let in the door.
