I'm sure this question has come up here before, but I'm new so I haven't been a part of it :P hee. Myself, I met my boyfriend almost six years ago on Neopets.com. We talked a lot, and became friends. Not much later, he came to meet me, and we have been officially dating for four and a half years.

I met my SO while working on a play. He was an actor, I was the stage manager...we had noticed each other for about a week and each had a secret crush on the other. Then one night the director and his wife (both friends of mine) invited us out for drinks after rehearsal and the sparks flew! (Actually, we got together exactly one year ago today!)

I met my boyfriend on a beach trip last summer. A mutual friend invited us along and we ended up hitting it off! It turns out we went to high school together. We didn't really know each other back then (although he vaguely remembers that I had purple hair), but it was a good conversation starter.

Purple hair is certainly memorable. I can't imagine dating any of the people that I am in high school with now, but I'm sure it would be different once I've been out of high school for a while. Thanks for sharing your story!

I had to laugh when I saw yuo met someone at the Neopet site; I too mat someone from there but he turned out to be a complete .. well, basket case. I think a lot more people are meeting people online and hooking up with them, if you would have said that say five years ago people would have looked at you like you were weird or desperate but that's just not the case. Congrats on four and a half years!

Sorry for all the typos, I need to find my contact lens case and put them in or clean my glasses off. Normally I catch the typos before I post .. LOL

I'm sorry that it didn't work out for you. It is funny though, isn't it? Neopets isn't really a romantic-type site. Haha. Thank you for the congrats :)

My boyfriend and I have been dating for over three years now but we have known each other for ages. When I was a senior in high school, I would babysit on saturday nights, and my now-boyfriend would end being the pizza delivery guy! I guess thats how we met, and it turned out we had a lot of common friends. (We both went to the same high school, but he graduated 2 years before me.) However, we didn't start dating until four years after we met because me going to college and traveling abroad. Actually I didn't think he was the nicest person when I knew him back then. After I got back from abroad, we re-met during a night out with friends and started talking. We were a couple about 3 months after that!

Haha! Life is so strange, I'm sure in your babysitting days you didn't think you'd end up with the pizza delivery guy! Thanks for sharing your story :)

This is a fun question! I met my now-husband at a university toga party (yes, just like the movies, we really did have toga parties!). I was there with a bunch of friends, who were all dancing, and I really didn't feel like dancing so sat down to have a few drinks. He eventually came over and started up a conversation (looking damn fine in his toga ;) ) I mentioned my friends had watched the jay & silent bob movie that afternoon, so he invited me up to his room to watch mall rats. Nothing physical happened (I'm really not like that, used to be quite shy, so just going with him was really out of character for me), but we ended up watching movies and falling asleep cuddling on his couch. I woke up the next morning in his arms, and before I left he officially asked me out. Then I got to do the "walk of shame" and go back to my own dormroom still wearing my toga! It was a perfect university rez romance ;)

My husband and I met in a class in college. It's really pretty cute actually. It was a summer semester intermediate macroeconomics class. For some reason, most of the people in my class were real basket cases; they would never raise their hands to answer or ask any questions. Except for my dear hubs and me! So after class one day he asked me if I'd like to do the homework together. Yes, it was seriously just like a sit-com. Anyway, I said yes and 6 years later, we were wed! We've been married for 5 months now...

i first met my boyfriend at work. we used to work at the same restaurant. i was his boss! it was a very professional relationship but the chemistry was already there. anyways, we only worked together for a week since his contract ended and he had to leave. but we got to know each other eventhough he left because he would still visit the restaurant so he could see me. and when me and the other staff go out he would join us. now we've been together for 2 years.

I met my husband by walking into a party and asking where the single men were. The host pointed me to my husband. 7 years later and we are still together.
