Who do you give out best responses to, and how often?

I try to give them out in every discussion I make, but only to those people that really want to help or speak to you. Not those 'I just want to post so i can get my money and get out of here' people.

I like to help the people in my friends list first of all, and out of them I have afew favourites that I stick with because I really have become friends with them and we do tend to help each other, its just a matter of which friend gives the best response.

I give them out on all my posts, except rarely. That would be when I got so many fantastic ones, that I cannot choose.

I try to give the "best response" to whoever has the response that I think is the most thorough and relevent.

I try to choose the best response in my discussions when I have at least 8 responses in that particular question.. And in choosing one, I really pick what stands out.. I do not just choose any response if it's not worth it..

actually i wanna know if giving out best reponses help in any way? Is it ok to leave it blank even if a thread might have run for like 1 month or so?
