What is your Soul?

Your soul is your link with the devine, but what is it and how does it work? Believing that we have a soul implies a belief in immortality as our bodies die our spirit or esscense goes on to reincarnate or mingle with the devine, depending on your beliefs. What do you believe you soul is, what words do you use for it and is yours a religeous or personal belief?

I believe my soul is the little spark which is "me" and which will flit out from my body at the moment of expiry and float away to wherever else it wishes to go. Knowing me it will float straight over to one of my family so that I can keep an eye on them. My belief is both personal and religious in that I am a Christian Spiritualist, but I do accept that most people have a different idea. Matter can not be destroyed nor created so it is logical that maybe our souls are also immortal but hop on and off available carriages (bodies) and hover around where their influence is needed. I certainly belive my soul or spirit or whatever it is termed will be lingering around long after the body has expired.

It is nice when people agree, isn't it. A lot of people think I a mentally challenged because those are my beliefs. I would like to think I would float off into the purple haze but knowing me I shall probably be smack bang into the guardian business withing 10 paces of floating out lol.

I think my soul is my inner self, the part of me the has the compassion, understanding and loving thoughts, it is the part of me that is the most fundamentally genuine, the articulate part of me. I don't know what happens to us when we die, if there is a higher plain or not, but I would like to think that there is something more.

Our soul is the pure energy of us. Is ensnared in this organic body for the duration of our time to do what we will with free will. Depending out how we use our will dictates the freedom or captivity of our energy essence. We have a creator and he goes by so many names that every one of us could know yet not realize we share a creator.

Wow, you are on the ball tonight, I think you've been first on everything I've waffled on about. I love you answer by the way, it should be really interesting to see what the different religions come up with.

Soul is an intangible thing. It is the only matter that connects us to God. It is a proof that we are one with him. Our life is temporary in this world. Our body is like a clothing. When we remove it, it's nothing but clothes. Our souls leave the body once we die and perhaps we could be born again but in other form and that our memory will be back to zero unless, it still have traces but only a few. And it depends on what you have done during those times that you were existing.
