When i went grocery Shopping a couple of weeks ago now i bought my baby a pink monkey. She has grown so fond of this stuffed pink monkey and i think it is the most adorable thing. My oldest daughter which is now 5 has never had an attachment to a certain toy or stuffed animal ever. My baby just loves it and she is so attached to it! Does your child have a favorite toy like this such as my baby girls oink monkey?

That is great but i mean one particular toy that she always seem to care more about or go back to no matter what else she may have. An absolute favorite toy!

Well as for now, I am not married and no way I could have kids. Most of the small babies are fond of stuff toys as these are so soft. I too am very fond of such toys since my childhood and have lots and lots of them in my room. Even now when I get to see some very good one, I do purchase it. I would like my kids to be playing with all those toys which I have acquired since my birth. Hope your baby retains this pink monkey for a long time and does not spoil it. Good Luck.

I will make sure that i keep it in good condition for her until she is old enough to do the same. I want her to keep it until she is my age and i will tell her the stories how she tried to attack anyone that ouched it ... LOL! You seem like you will make a good father one day though and that is a good quality to hang on too!!

Bong has "Bed Ted" a little brown bear I was given when I was pregnant with him and a Ty Seahorse. Roo has Bear, who is a very soft lovely looking teddy whihmy dad got him when he was ill in shopital and Squirt a turtle thet his Aunt got when he was tiny. Roo is not as bothered about his cuddlies as Bong is, he prefers to hug me, lol

My youngest daughter has a pink blanket. The inside is that really soft material and has a satin edging on it. She likes the corner of the blanket the best, especially when falling a sleep she takes the corner of the blanket and rubs it gently across the tip of her nose until she falls asleep. Most unusual, most kids chew on them. She takes it almost everywhere and washing it is like world war 3. Take my advise buy extra oink monkeys, trade them around so they all get played with equally. I didn't do this and that is the only one she wants, not the new one, not the purple, or the green, just the 1 and only pink one. LOL kids are great! :):) Good luck to you here at mylot!

My girls both have cuddly toys that they like to have in bed. My eldest didn't start this till she was about 3 but my little one was younger than 1 when she got attached. She would take her little dog everywhere but I don't let her as I wouldn't want to lose it.

I was raised to be independent and to never rely on anything and this mean having a favorite stuffed animal, I miss not having that, I did have an imaginary friend which freaked my parents out but for toys I just guess I never learned to bond with anything.

My son has a green frog that sings Jesus loves me when you press its hand. He loves that frog so much. He sleeps with it every night and at naptime. And if he doesn't have that frog then he doesn't want to go to sleep.

My son was very attached to his baby quilt at a young age. He could not relax and fall asleep without it, so I searched thrift stores and garage sales and bought a total of about 10 of those quilts. Used ones were better because they were already soft from being washed. Since my son got sick very often, I needed quite a few of them in case several were in the wash at one time, or if one were to get lost or destroyed. He's 12 now and he still has three of them. Two of them are so thin from washing that you can see the batting inside.

None of my children really had an attachment to any toy or object until they got older. My youngest daughter turned 2 in November and she goes thru phases where she'll want a particular toy for a couple of days and than it's something different a couple of days later. My oldest daughter has a collection of over 300 stuffed pandas. She's going to be 19 and she can't part with any of them. But she didn't start collecting til she was in the 3rd grade.

When my oldest was a baby, she never really formed a close attachment to anything until she was around five or six. Then she got a stuffed animal from her Nana and that thing went everywhere with her, lol. My middle son had an attachment to a blue blanket which he still has on his bed today and he's now eight. My youngest daughter received a doll her second Christmas and it's still her favorite doll today (she's seven). It's really the only doll she ever played with. Funny how they develop attachments to certain things and none at all to others.

My duagther also have this fascination for stuffed toys. Our house is almost full of stuffed toys beacuse everytime we go shopping, she would grabbed one stuffed toy from the rack and she wll just hug it endlessly. SO who can't resist that. So eveytime she do this, I have to buy that stuffed toy. her favorite is Barney and Winnie the Pooh. She also has this pink elephant given to her as a gift and she always love to hug it specially when she's about to go to sleep.

I have put my foot down to bringing anymore stuffed animals into the house. We are overrun, and we have given some away. But SOME people just can't resist.

My son doesn't have a particular fave toy but I had a teddybear i took everywhere as a youngster - his name was "teddy" and some of my earliest memories are of him - especially of biting his nose off! Oh and crying my little heart out as my mother told me that he couldn't come to heaven!! I still have him although he is in bad need of a fur transplant as i've worn a lot of fur off - especially around the middle from too many hugs and he's had numerous operations now to keep his insides from spilling out!

When I was little I attached to a dish towel bunny. I wouldn't go anywhere without it. When my mother would want to wash it, it was like pulling teeth! My mom got smart and got another one so she could switch them without me knowing. Then, of course, one day I find the second one! She then had to sew the two bunnies together! Ha! Ha! I still have the bunnies for a keep-sake! lol

That is just to cute. Mine is the same way with her blankie aka nic nic. I wish I was able to find another blanket just like that one. Trying to wash it, was like watching a child lose her best friend. I would try to give her another blanket, and she would just throw it down, and jump on it while crying I want my nic nic. It was the cutiest thing to see while at the same time so heartwreanching. Still cute of a story. Maybe you can pass down the bunnies to your kids someday.

No, my kids did not, but the prevailing thought is that having a special toy like that is beneficial for children, it helps them transition better when they have to be away from mom. It is hard, however, for mom to get that special toy washed and keep it clean. I can imagine the fun you are having.

Daughter and her Green Bunny - My two year old daughter with her green bunny
Do they ever! My oldest daughter was given a nylon, neon green bunny when she was an infant. I stress nylon because they wear easily and don't mend well. When that bunny got worn I gave her a neon green, nylon dinosaur. She was still just a baby but she knew the difference and wouldn't have it. I went out and bought her another identical bunny. I must have bought about 30 of those dang things. I think I was lucky to find them. I did get a couple of yellow ones. Eventually she stuck to the same bunny and would not let it be replaced by another. We kept the bag full of bunnies... thought I'd hang them up at her wedding reception. LOL! She is 13 and just stopped sleeping with the bunny a year or so ago but still has it on her shelf. It is dirty and ugly and filled with stitches. My 10 year old still sleeps with her giraffe. It is made of cotton and has needed no mending at all. She was given that as an infant too and it has a rattle inside it. If the person who gave it to her only knew what an effect that gift had on our child!

i don't have a baby yet. but i still have some of the stuff toy i got when i was a baby. one of them is a very old rabbit stuff toy given to me by my grandmother. it's a little broken now and really old. i'm already 24 years old. so it's about 20 years old. i don't really remember much on that stuff toy. but i did get to see some of my baby pictures with me holding that stuff toy. my mom even tells me that i have a name for him. so whether or not i do remember it.. i'm pretty sure i was attached to it. funny thing my mom told me that i have one name for all the favorite thing i have. my pet's name was bokbok and that stuff toy's name was bokbok. it was just something i kept mumbling i guess as a baby.

It is very common with kids. They love dolls. And it is no surprise that they are emotionally attached so much to it. After some years they looses atatchemnet to dolls once they find some friends, chool etc
