Are you a thread killer?

You spot an interesting or popular topic. You post a reply to it. Suddenly, the topic dies. Hours, days, weeks go by and nobody else replies after your post. Oh no, you killed it! Your name sticks out on the "last response by" tag like a sore thumb. Are you a thread killer? I estimate that 1/3 or my replies end up killing a topic. So watch out, I'm on the loose and your topic may be the next in line! ;)

My name is twilight021 and I am a threadkiller. Here, other places I post...every time I join in a thread it seems to fizzle away. Am I just comingin too late? Or am I totally boring? Some of my discussions here never even got off the ground. I think that's pre-meditated threadkilling or something :-)

Ok, after reading this, I must contend that SplitZip's native tongue is English!!! Portugese, hah! (that's a compliment, by the way!!)

Is this the start of Thread-killers Anonymous? ;) Let's see, our 12-Step Program: 1. Admit that you are powerless over thread-killing, that your topic contributions have become unanswerable. 2. Believe that a power greater than yourself could restore your posting skills. 3. Make the decision to turn your postings around. 4. Search within yourself and make an inventory of your posting activity. 5. Admit to myLot, yourself and all other users the exact nature of your thread-killing. 6. Be entirely ready to have the myLot staff delete all your thread-killing posts. 7. Humbly study the posts of popular, non-thread-killing users, in order to learn from them and improve your own contributions. 8. Make a list of all the users you have harmed, and make amends to them all, if necessary, by never killing their topics again. 9. Make direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure their own or other users's topics and standing. 10. Continue to take personal inventory and when you find yourself killing a topic, promptly admit it. 11. Seek through posting and participation to improve your conscious contact with myLot's community. 12. Having had a posting awakening as the result of these steps, try to carry this message to other thread-killers, and to practice these principles in all your affairs.

LOL..now that you mentioned it, I think I'm a thread killer too!! I checked back on few of my responses yday to see if they were any comments left by others, and to my shock I found so many discussions with my response as the last one..I really wonder why?! Well anyways now myLot users have to watch out for two thread killers I guess...you and me!lol

Haha, yes, killing people's topics, it's not the way to be "popular" around here :D And sometimes I even kill my own topics. Fear me! ;)

I was surprised to see how many people feel this way. I have noticed it every time I go to "discussions I have replied to" page and see how many of them I have the most recent response. Usually I like nothing better than to have the last word, but not like this. At least now I have saved another person from the curse.

That's funny.Last week I told my husband that I thought I was a thread killer. He was even asking me So how many threads did you end today? I know exactly what you mean. For awhile,I would see a discussion that was moving along.I made a reply and that would be it for the discussion.I still don't know what it was.Just timing I guess. I hope. Just as suddenly as it started, it changed. Now I don't seem to kill the threads.Well, for your sake,I hope not.
