Let's say, myLot does give us the much awaited "Delete" button..

I think every user who comes on here has sometime or the other wished there was a "delete" button so we could get rid of our own unwanted posts..and I emphasize on 'own' so we are talking only about our own posts and not about deleting other offensive material (let's leave that to the myLot admin. for now) Let's say myLot does give us the option to delete posts, but the only drawback is you can't retrieve them once deleted. So it's a "use at your own risk" kind of thing..so just imagine, if you accidentally deleted a good post (which has a very good number of responses) what would happen? Our first instinct would be to start a discussion announcing the same..and hence another junk discussion..because it's not a unique 'discussion like topic',instead just a rant or whatever you choose to call it. Now this applies to only the ones who know the consequences of using the delete button. The ones who don't know, are gonna start hundreds of threads asking what they can do to retrieve deleted material since they did it "accidentally" and blah blah.. So ultimately with such a delete button, we are gonna have more junk, when the main intention of the "delete" function was to eliminate junk!! lol What do you think?

Although it might also give me the chance to delete the discussions with no responses. You could have a recyle bin, an outtakes/draft file, and do some editing on posted discussions. You're right, though, there would be millions of "how to" posts. 500s would have it easier than the others. We can cut and paste, and save files. Could be a bit rough on anyone who's learning the system before that level. They seem to have enough difficulties with the basics.

it is good idea according to discussions makers, but what about people who posted a reply to the discusions? deleting a discussion means removing earnings for responses. people would be confused and didnt know which discusion wont be deleted, they wont feel secure when responding. i refer not to have a delete buton but have earnings from the number i replied. but i would be for this idea for discussions with no responses, then noone would be hurt by acting of removing a discussion.

Well said, it is confusing when we are allowed to delete our discussions. Maybe that's the reason myLot doesn't have one yet!:)

Actually it is confusing situation with the delete button lol. As we are noticing how some people are doing copy paste, they will surely take the advantage of delete button too. But we need a edit button for sure. I desparetly need one.

That would be cool if there were a delete button, like you said, to delete our own unwanted discussions. I have some of those that I would get rid of in a heart beat, LOL. It is possible that having a delete button would cause more grief with more junk but who knows for sure. I'm all in favor of having the ability to delete some of my discussions.

Hehe, me too! I would love to get rid of many of my discussions. Hmm, this was just a hypothetical button, let's see if myLot actually comes out with one:)

I can see your point with that. Perhaps maybe the delete button could be set up to only be used with discussions with no responses? You know once someone responds the delete button disappears. It's a thought anyway. I think an edit button would be more advantagous. That way we could correct things or add things to our discussions that we don't realize about till others have posted.

Not only would a delete button be great, but I would love to see an edit button-or maybe I just dont know where it is and how to use it. many time after I hit post- I notice something spelled wrong and I see this in alot of other posts as well.

A delete button is a good idea, but I'd like to restrict it to posts that have a maximum of 2 replies. An automatic spell checker before final posting would be nice too...

Personally, I think a delete feature would prove a nuisance. Not only will mylotters do what you have suggested, they will also complain about fudged payments. There no doubt would be a glitch.
