My mother tried teaching me when I was younger, but our learning styles were different and it didn't work out too well. When I met my husband, he was an awesome cook. Our learning styles were also different, but he adapted himself to my style of learning and taught me how to cook. Who taught you?

My mum is trying to teach me to cook at the moment. She wants me to have lots of things to make when i leave home and go to University. She's a pretty good teacher and it's going ok!

my mom taught me to cook. She is a very good cook and has been conducting cooking classes for over 25 years now. I have been exposed to the kitchen since a kid. But to tell you the truth I cooked my first meal only after my wedding and I came to the US. I had to cook and it wasn't a choice..lol But now I love cooking and I can't believe I make dishes almost like my mom, she is proud of me. I experiment with various cuisines now. I used to observe how things are done back home, and so am able to cook well now.

That's cool. I try coming up with different things, but usually start with recipes. What's sixth standard? Would that be equivalent to our sixth grade here?

I taught myself how to cook. Mother didn't want me anywhere near her kitchen or her recipes. After she made me buy my own food, I learned how to cook real fast. I had to have everything cleaned up before she got home from work. She no longer wanted me eating with the family, so I had to fend for myself. A cookbook goes a long way in achieving your goals. At this stage in my life, I consider myself a gourmet cook. I experiment a lot while I am creating a dish. It doesn't always work out, but most of the time it does. Change a few ingredients the next time and everything is great.

Nobody taught me how to cook. I learn it myself. I learn from recipes and tv show (i like james oliver) he he. I also get tips how to cook from my mum in law, grandma, my dad. They give good ideas on how to cook delicious. I have experienced cook for my mother in law n father in law. I tried not to cook spicy and oily. Even, I don't like it. Cooking must be in healthy way. Or else you might trap with all fat and cholesterol inside your body!

my mother taught me how to cook.. she wanted me to assist her when she cooks meal so I would learn how to cook and sometimes she would just dictate what to do next and just let me cook by myself.. and then when I lived in my aunt's house, I just watched her cook and adapated her cooking techniques

My mom taught me a few of the basics. And I knew how to read recipies and use the equipment, so when I was in college, I got sick of the dorm cafeteria food all the time and started experimenting. Now I do all the cooking for my family. I learned quickly that you get to eat good food all the time if you know how to cook it right.

I learned from both of my parents and grandparents. Visiting with them usually involved a lot of time in the kitchen talking and cooking. It was just kinda natural to be curious about what they were doing and asking if they would show me.

my mom taught me a little. basiclly, just a few dishes she knew. then my sister taught me a little more, but most of the cooking i learned on my own. i got a few tid bits here and there. i mostly started to get into it when i lived on my own, with my husband and kids and i was the only one cooking in the house. i give a lot of credit to Alton Brown and the rest of the Food Network...they taught me a whole lot of things...now to a point where i'm probably a better cook then my mother. but my sister is still a little more better then me, since her husband studied to be a chied once and of course she has more kitchen gadgets to play with.
