I am one of the top users. To tell you frankly one has to work very hard to make discussion topic to be current all the time. I do not have a large bandwagon of friends who support my discussion topic. I have hardly 15 people of which 3 persons are active. Rest all just passive watchers. Secondly I respond to everyone's discussion topic and I do not do specifically for my friends' discussion topic. So your statement that there is an understanding between selected few is totally baseless. Whenever someone responds to your discussion topic, you have to follow it up to keep it alive, with additional information. You seem to be frustrated and your utterances are just indicative of the same.

Ofcourse it matters. If myLot was full of nonsense, it probably won't be around for long. So keep on writing quality threads, we don't want myLot folding. If it's gone, it will be sad for us I'm sure.

Most of the discussions I've started have gotten very few responses, some have gotten none. I've basically given up starting discussions and just respond to others. One things I've noticed is that some people start a LOT of discussions, so one of theirs is always showing up on the recnet discussionslist. People respond to that discussion, then maybe check out the person;s other discussions. And the more discussions that person has, the more people will find ones they want to comment on.
