I have tattoos, but I have avoided for the most part getting tattoos that are just flash off the walls. I figure if I'm going to get something permanently inked onto my skin, it should have a story, represent something, or have some sort of connection like that.
I currently have a number of tattoos, and I can tell you the story of how they represent pieces of my life, and I like having that behind them.
Do you think it is important to have a good story and personal meaning behind your tattoo, or is it just to you artwork that looks nice and is cool?

I agree with you. I have seen people get some crazy tattoos that in the next few years they are going to regret.
I have one. It is an ankle bracelet. Every time something happens in my life that I want to remember or want to mark the occasion I go get a "charm" added.
I have one for my son, one for my husband, one for our wedding day, one for our dog...Cody, who is a big part of our life, and one for my best friend of 16 years.
I thought it would be a cool way to tell my life story.

That is a really cool idea! I think it's a very smart way to do it.
And very versatile as well - the ability to add like that. Neat!
Do you have the charms made to actually look somewhat like a jewelry charm, or are you making them more just small tattoos all 'connected' by the chain?

They are all designed by my husband. He is an artist. My neighbor is a really tattoo artist. I have sent many people to him so he does mine for free. They look like real charms on a bracelet. I had the chain put on first and just add as life goes on.

i chose a butterfly for many reasons. They are very graceful, elegant and beautiful. To me it also shows inspiration and dreams,as well as determination.i think of you as a social butterfly, and it reminds me how you have risen above everything and transformed into friend.
