Hi Friends I just wanted to send you this to help you when you suffer from cramping of your legs. "I have one health tip that really works. We have all experienced leg cramps, or better known as "charlie horses" in our lives. Some have them worse than others. I have found that when one starts, rub plain white vinegar on the hurting area, and in just a few seconds, the pain is gone. I have tried it and it works, and others I've told about it in the past tell me it works for them, too." So it will work for you too

In the Vermont Folk Medicine book it is recommended to drink apple cider vinegar and honey in water to make sure you have enough potassium in your system to prevent the muscle cramps, and other ailments. Placing all of your weight on the leg that has the cramp causes it to stop as well.

This has been my remedy for quite some time. I am about to have my fourth child and while pregnant I tend to have several charlie horses each day. I get up (as quickly as possible) and transfer my weight to the aching leg. Seems to work most every time! Thanks for the vinegar tip but I don't think that I would be able to get to it quickly enough! :)

I will have to try this, I have always heard it's due to lack of potassium I feed my kid's and husband bananas when they get these it helps for them. I don't like bananas so I will try the vinegar. Thanks for the tip.

Yes they do say that we have to eat bananas for potassium and also they should be eating pure orange juice this is also great for potassium.

My Dad swears by quinine but they didn't help me. I do the weight thing, pushing down on the ailing leg but it takses a long time for the pain to go.

Kathy, this really works. My grandmother told me about this. She has done this for over 50 years when she has leg cramps. I have a lot of leg cramps, and it works for me also.

I'll have to try that myself, as I do get leg cramps sometimes usually at night in bed. I don't know what my partner will think, he will probably think he's sleeping next to a bag of fish and chips LOL.

I get very few leg cramps since I started taking magnesium every day, but when I did get them they were quickly eased by putting full weight on the offending leg. I never had continuing pain after relieving the cramp, so I'm afraid vinegar wouldn't help.

as far as my knowledge goes leg cramps are due to deficiency of salts in the body.In order to reduce them or to completely get rid of the problem, drink much of water with small amounts of salts in it.

Hi Gabs, my discussion about using vingegar for cramps it does say white vinegar in this discussion and it does really work it is amazing how many things you can do with vinegar there are over 1,000 uses for vinegar, but I do pray you do not get many as they are terrible.

This may be three months old but I needed advice also like QueenKaren about leg cramps. One of the members in their response put this link to your discussion. I was glad to see it myself. They wake me up from my sleep and it feels like someone is tearing my leg off. They used to happen all the time when I was younger and then I hadn't had them for years. Now I am getting them again and after one of these I can't hardly walk at all. So I will give this a try. Thanks this was appreciated very much.
