Please Don't Vent Your Anger Out On A Particular Country

I'm sorry but this has to be said, I've read a discussion about someone hating a particular country. Every country has its own problems, every country has it's fair share of good and bad people, but it is wrong to incite hate. There is enough hatred in this world. This site shouldn't be used as a tool to encourage hatred. No country is perfect, no country is bad either. Sorry but this had to be said, (gets off my soap box now!)

Hey, get back up on that soap box! Because I am glad that someone said it as a discussion starter. I was responding to a person the other day about hating Americans when he didn't even know an American personally. I, too, asked him to get to know some Americans before he judges and that he should focus on the positive. There is always going to be something that is viewed negatively by others...but there are also some great things that are done. If we spread hate in a community that is supposed to bring us together, how are we going to make a difference for future generations? So, I feel that same way. We all make mistakes...personally and our governments. But those mistakes are not all that define who we are. Stop and look at the beauty too. You may just find a rainbow among that gray sky.

This is it .. we are far too quick to judge a whole country and it's people by the short 'sound bytes' of information given in a newscast ..

You are right. There is no need to blame any country for any thing at all. People are good and countries are good. Itis only policy differences which can be said politely without hurting one's feelings.

no one can blame a country for the problems people create.. look at osama bin laden.. u cant blame saudi arabia for bringin him out or afghanisthan for lettin him rule over the country... no one should blame the country but people should take responsibility for the problems they create

couldn't agree more. I once started a discussion when i truely felt everyone was discriminating against ppl from india. I felt strongly as i know i'm not a spammer so how can ppl say that - 'ppl from india are spamming mylot' - that is so untrue - there are ppl who do it but it cannot be contry specific - rather person specific. I'm happy to see that i haven't come across any such discussions/topics where there is discrimination against a contry (After my post) - so i'm hoping things are getting better in here.

Clambers up onto the soap box .. ooof can you just give me a hand young wolfie .. cripes it's a bit high up .. now where was I .. I don't think we can hate a country or it's citizens until we have spent at least some time in that country and have met more than a few of the citizens .. because until you do you don't get the full picture .. Yes, there are many citizens from a country who's views we may disagree with .. and often the politics of a country aren't to our taste .. but we only see this as 'outsiders' .. quite possibly (and actually quite often) the views of a countries citizens are not reflected in the politics or actions of the few that get media attention .. We rarely if ever get the real views of your 'basic' citizen .. even if they do manage to get heard often words are repeated in the media out of context or foreshortened where the rest of the sentence would have made a full explanation ... So we should never .. say we hate a place or country until we can go and see for ourselves ..

You don't have to be sorry. You are right in letting this idea out. I've seen some discussions against particular countries. They are starting hate among mylot users. Discussions such as these should be deleted by mylot and not allowed at all. There should be a specific rule against discussions such as this and any other similar discussions which promote hate and encourage biases.

You have made an excellent point. More hatred will not solve anything. Personally, I don't hate anyone. It is not a productive feeling to have inside and it does no good to hate anything...period. Those that hate others become imprisoned by that hatred. Feel free to get on your soapbox and promote goodness, kindness and love.

I don't understand all the anger either. It does not seem to be getting better. I know its an open forum, but since we are able to communicate one on one and also have the ability to debate why the global statements?!?! Ask someone personally what they think rather than grouping millions of people together. I do believe that we'd get more accurate answers and better debates.

I just saw your post! yargh! Two hours ago I was posting about how rude and not courteous my friends are here in My. I don't hate my country though, I just think people should have a little more manners and be a little more courteous. Sorry!

I agree with you my Friend 110%. There is too much hatred in the World. No Country is perfect and no one has the right to disgrace a Country just because they feel hatred for whatever is going on in their Country. Some people really are hostile towards other Countries and then let hatred dictate for them. Whatever happened to Love One Another ? The World is made up of 50 States and many Countries we all live in the same World and Universe and we should all start acting like that. Do not be sorry for expressing your true and unique feelings.

I agree--hatred aimed at other countries does nothing but perpetuate racism. It makes the denizens of the country look bad, but it can't be stopped. To make people stop speaking ill of other countries, free will and the right to free speech would have to be outlawed.

I personally dont hate any countries, and would like to travel one day but, I dont like religion, but i aint gonna say anything about that.

You are right but there is a thing in the United States called Freedom of speech. So if someone wants to write about what they feel, at least you have to give them kudos for writing their own feelings and not copying and pasting other peoples things.
