Tips on my sewing machine

Sounds like it is time for a thorough cleaning and then be careful of the tension. I always had trouble with older thread also. Taking your time is of the essence also. Sure miss sewing and making good things. What is it you are trying to make?

yes i agree with the first post on this discussion it does sound like it is time for a cleaning also it may depend on the brand and quality of the sewing maching and how old it is i know when it comes to sewing machines the concept "you get what you pay for" definitely applies i have found (through first hand experience) that the cheaper the sewing maching the faster it is to break and stop working if i were you i would give it a good cleaning and see if that helps good luck

I was having the same problem with my sewing machine. I took it apart and used a paint brush to clean it up good then oiled it. Let it set till the next day and put it back together. Then I redid the needle with a new one. Seems my other one was dull (who knew? LOL) and it worked fine. I did have to play with the tension and thread though after I oiled it and cleaned it, it did not need the tension so tight.

I think that maybe the tension is too loose on your machine. Tighten the knob and check it out. Read the manual that came with your machine.
