Are you trying to sell your artwork or ....

A re painted painting - This painting is an observed painting, based on someone elses painting, I tryed to copy it exactly, using acrylics and oils, even though I rarely paint these sorts of pictures, as I am mostly into fantasy art.

I am usually painting to sell, but I don't paint often enough to really make a living from it. I have sold and shown, though.

I've sold bits and bobs online, but I sell other stuff aswel as affiliate information products that are other products, so when I create my own information stuff to sell I shall be attatching my artwork to any relevant reports!

It started out as a hobbie earning from my artwork, but I found if I applied a bit more effort I could be making some good liveable money on the internet.

Alot of of people I know in other certain business areas use Ebay for selling their art work as you can impose a time limit on your work to be bidded on, I have not gotten around to realising the full potential of ebay, I've dabbled but I will concentrate on ebay when I've finished my 80+ websites in other areas! Yes at deviant art you can sell prints, but you have to subscribe to their full service and this just takes the small amount of money from you considering that there is free alternatives out there and realising them, have you tried a Squidoo lens to showcase your art, they are free and you can build up traffic to your lens with the right amount of applied effort!

I've been trying to sell my art for years. Right now I have a store on etsy.com. I sell things now and again, but I'd really hoped to be supporting myself with it at this point and it's just not happening.

Hang in there, turning points are there to be found, believe me I've had my share of not getting anywhere for years, but it does take time and time is running out!

Often times I create art and naturally don't want to let it go for sale, but I must sometimes to try and get my name out there.

Pure enjoyment! What else? Actually, I only paint when the mood hits me and when it does, something good always comes from it. I have never sold a painting, I have always given them away. It is pretty cool to go to a friends house and see your painting displayed on the wall. Hey, it's better than an art gallery anyday! I have had my work displayed many times and I have won a few rewards, but I never sell them. I have some really great ideas for my next "mood swing", LOL, can't wait for it to happen. I have been thinking about it now for a few weeks now, so I think it might be soon.

That's good, to be happy with giving your art away, I do some art just for the fun of it, but then I also try and sell some for the fun of it too, as it there is no feeling like it when someone wants to buy your work or even just ask about it, it sort of feels real, like you are here on this earth to add and not dreaming or something like that!

if one is a real artist, of course one would draw and paint first for pure enjoyment...an artist should try to sell his/her work to make money and also so that other people can enjoy art too.

Why yes of course art is for sharing. And then earning from it is a bonus as is the fact of people might just like your work enough to ask for an autograph!!

I can't draw but if I did then I'd be selling it like nobody's business and enjoy it too.

I have sold some of my artwork, also given some away as presents. I used to work as a graphic artist, so of course, I sold a lot of illustrations, but I've sold paintings, too. The last two I sold were commisions so I had no choice in subject matter. Usually, I just paint whatever strikes my fancy, from portraits to still lifes to landscapes and anything in between. I also sell cross-stitch. But I am nowhere near to making a living from it.

I understand, marketing your work alone is the key to success online and offline, starting from the absolute beginning and building up hype and your name as an artist is the best answer around. Just keep at it, I sure am!!

I create art and take pictures because I love these things. However, I would like to be able to make some money doing that. Easier said then done, I am afraid. I keep trying though and every now and again make a sale. But, in the end I do it because I love to.

Selling art should simply begin with that love for creating art and then it should branch out from there really, getting to know certain areas on the internet to promote your art and then spread it by your friends using the old word of mouth, and actually becoming an expert in your chosen area of art can help quite a lot!!
