How much sleep do I need minimum?

I am 28 years old. How much do I really need per night?

I always hear we need 8 hrs a night but I myself seldom get that i go to bed but the more i try to sleep the more wide awake i become many nights i just give up and come and get on my computer I have tried takeing melatonin at bed time but it rarely helps!

YOu need 8 hours sleep to be healthy and the sleep time and wake up time should be fixed, so that you will not have any problem in getting the sleep.

the best is 7-8 hours per night.. but the minimum is 2-3 hours.. i always sleep 3-4 hours a day...

well most adults need between 6-8 hrs sleep every night

You are in your 20's and is pushing 30. Hmmm...I read from a scientific article that when you're in your 30's, you need 6-7 hours of sleep. You see, the number of sleep hours decline with age. Infants can sleep the entire day, children, adolescents and young adults 8 hours, and so on. Eight (8) hours of sleep for you should still be fine (but hopefully you are active). Should you get sleepy despite 8 hours of sleep, that's because you got used to sleeping more than 8 hours in the past (like I do) with lower levels of activity.
