I started a teaching degree last year after being a nurse for over 20 years. I completed 1 year but then we moved interstate and the course is really different here so I can't get any credit for what I've already completed. So when I got a job this time, I changed to commuinity nursing for a change and I love it so far (6 months on)

There are times when we actually need to look at a career change mytwo_daughters. For some people it is a permanent change in direction of their career but for others it is just a "short break" before they return to their original career, only much more refreshed.
I must admit that I had some career changes in the days that I worked, but not major ones and they were generally an extension of my original career.
Good luck to you mytwo_daughters with your new job and I do hope that it provides you with much satisfaction, and better still with much less stress than you would experience from nursing. :)

I went from an administrative position to being unemployed. I have applied to many positions that I "think" I would like doing, but none have panned out. Having decided that there were certain aspects of my last job that I really liked and was really good at, I have become avidly promoting my skills in hopes to find a job or have another company create one for me.

I added a second job that utilizes skills I have from other positions. So, I am a paraprofessional--supporting children with special needs in a school environment. I am also a Residential Support Specialist, supporting adults with disabilities in their living and working environment.
