Will an external hard drive at 7200rpm be faster than an internal at 4200rpm?

I can have both FireWire and USB 2.0. Which would be fastest?

firewire is much the faster of the two and I would say the external is faster. But yea the firewire is by far much faster then a standard usb 2.0

I do not think you would notice a difference between them.
