bangalore is increasingly growing intolerant and violent. we seek a new reason each day to start a communal riot, anti Tamil riot... Why? the bangalore I knew was a cosmopolitan place which embraced everyone with open arms.... but this is not the place where i was brought up

I'm Italian and I've never been in your wonderful country, but.... it's strange what you say, till now I did an idea of India: it's the biggest democracy in the world and the most tolerant country in the world. India si full of a lot of different faiths and temples of every faith.... I know that fanatics and terrorists are everywhere, and so in your town too, but I think that tolerant people are the majority. Am I wrong?

sheep are in majority but it is the minority dogs that decide where the herd should go.

Yes Ruknaa, I have nothing to add to your words.... you live in Bangalore, not me, and you know what the truth is.... I can only hope that sheeps learn to react and that they will be able, in future, to manage this situation better....

I am really sorry to hear it. I think this is a sign of the times - there is a lot less tolerance in the world right now - with a lot of mistrust and misdirection of anger at groups and people. I hope your city renews itself!

Unfortunately this seems to be the direction that the whole world is taking. When a place starts growing and becoming more attractive the people who were there first start feeling threatened and push back. But I think that we will all have to accept that no place 'belongs' to us, we are all tenents here.

Ruknaa, there were riots, but for a reason. Even I live in Bangalore. The riots do not happen daily, just think of a place where bad people do not exist. Bangalore still has many good people, it is one of most beautiful places I have ever seen. BTW Indians are definitely the most tolerant of all. For instance, take Cauvery issue, the case went for nearly 17 years, and the court ordered us to release the majority of water to TN!!! People raised their voice for a reason, that too fter 17 years. We are not against Tamil, Bangaloreans are the most friendly people of all. When we meet a Tamilian, we try to answer him in his own language, we are so open and friendly. Just look around you, you will find the beautiful Bangalore, getting more and more beautiful. It is expanding everyday, soon we are gonna get a much bigger International airport and soon Metro which is going to enhance the beauty of our Bangalore, we have Volvo buses plying around the city. I am really happy to live in this place. You gotta visit a few other places in India, like Madras, Kolkata, Gauhati, Imphal, Mangalore, Hubli... - these are some places I have seen, and none of them are to my taste :) Bangalore is still one of the beautiful Garden City of India, and I love it.
