Last month when we had an ice storm up here in Missouri and were without power for a week I asked my daughter, "If you could have power for just one thing right now, what would it be?" Her answer was quite simple but amazed me since I was freezing. She said, "the computer." Here I am wondering how I'm going to keep us warm while the power is out and all she wants is the computer. So if you could only have power for one thing, what would it be and why?

The computer. Hahaha. Seriously, though. The internet is the window to the world. As long as you have it, everything's good.

I would have gone along with her on that one too if I hadn't been freezing at the time. I already had 4 blankets on me and still needed more. LOL

I think it would be the electric range. We need it to cook.

Thank heavens I had a Coleman cooker for that. But you are right all those foods that don't need to be cooked get really old after a while. Thanks for your response.

My electric wheelchair since I can't move independently without it and people have trouble pushing me since I'm chubby or maybe lights, I don't know.

I was in florida when Ivan hit and we were without power for several weeks. The one thing my daughter wanted was a hot bath. We had camping stoves and a grill to cook and it was very hot outside but my daughter hated the cold baths. The one thing she wanted was the hot water heater. Cant say i disagree with her either a nice hot bath would have been nice. LOL

Yeah, I was in Flordia when it happened and I remember being without power for 11 days. Thank heavens we finally got a generator though and could hook up some fans at night so we could all sleep. Thank you for responding!

Well, We heat with gas. So that would not be a problem. I guess it would be the computer. Then my family would have to fight over it.
