Yes, you can season it with salt, pepper, garlic powder whatever seasonings you like, you can also get a packet of McKormick Taco seasoning, then top it with picante sauce.

My recipe for tacos is just plain and simple. ground beef sauteed in lots of garlic and lots of ground pepper(that depends on your taste), mc cormick taco mix (add just some of it), salt and a little of tomato sauce. . for the veggies, thin-sliced lettuce, chopped tomatoes and onions, grated cheese. Don't forget the Tabasco hot sauce. Yummy!

Tacos are one of my favorite foods! My family recipe: We buy large flour tortilla shells and fry them in a LITTLE oil to make them crispy/flaky. I use tongs to grab the shells, flip and fold them. The grease must be hot before the shell can be fried, otherwise you get really greasy shells. I fry them one by one and stack them with paper towels between them to absorb the excess oil. We top them with cooked ground beef, seasoned with taco seasoning packet, shredded cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream and taco sauce. For leftovers, we might use tortilla chips (or Doritos) and refried beans along with the other ingredients to make a baked taco salad. ((I like to add the lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream and taco sauce after the chips, beans, meat and cheese are baked)) Using the flour shells, we have an option of having warmed tortilla shells or fried, crispy ones. My son doesn't like them fried. You can also bake the hard shells that are pre-packaged, as desired.

I forgot to add: DRAIN THE GREASE FROM GROUND BEEF... then follow directions on seasoning packet. Also, if you like salsa better or don't like taco sauce, you can use salsa as an alternative. Some of my family members like diced onions as a topping too. (not my immediate family though, so I only have them available if we are having guests for dinner)

I make tacos a few ways. One way is just by doing it according the the taco seasoning packet. I also sometimes do them by scratch. You would brown the ground beef and then drain it. I season it will onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, chili powder and cayenne pepper. You can add the seasonings according to what you like. I usually top mine off with shredded cheese, lettuce, salsa or taco sauce and sour cream. (I don't do sliced/diced tomatoes because I do not like raw tomatoes. haha) My all time favorite way to do tacos is to make steak tacos. You can either buy stir-fry beef or buy thin, thin sliced steak and cut it into strips yourself. I usually buy about two-pounds of meat(makes about 8 decently filled tacos or so). You'll also need a large onion cut up. Put the meat and onion into a large skillet on medium to medium-high. You want to season them with garlic pepper salt ( a good sprinkle but not a lot, a lot). Then you use a product that most people refer to as Maggi (it's a soup/gravy seasoning that come in small brown, glass bottle with a yellow label. usually found in the condiment aisle. it has to be this brand, i have tried others and they are not the same). Pour a decent amount over the top or the meat and onions. Instead of draining the meat, I keep cooking it until the juices are absorb/evaporate since it makes the mean more tender. And voila. I serve mine on warmed soft, flour tortills (taco size) with sour cream and taco sauce. Good luck if you decide to make them. =)
