This has been a debate between me and my co-gym members/gym addicts. I personally work out in the gym or should I say do classes straight for 2-3 hours per day and that would be 6 times a week. You think that is too much?! I know of a member who started from 12pm until 6 pm! Another one did from 4-10pm! I even did a hiphop class marathon which was for 2 hours straight with no breaks. Nice feeling just to accomplish that! Tell me your opinions!

any exercise that takes over 2 hours has a negative effect on the body, your body produces a chemical that eats your muscle away and means all the exercise you have been doing pointless

I use to do workouts like this when i was younger and got no benefit. I felt tired the whole time and gained no strength. At one point i actually lost strength on the bench press. I did do alot more weight lifting exercises than that though. My grades even went down in school. I went from working out 2 to 3 hours to working out 30 minutes to an hour a day 2 to 3 times a week and then I felt fine and gained strength(still am) and the grades went back up. I definitly was over training. You may be able to train more or less it just depends on your genetics. People shouldn't waste time like this to end up worse.

I think there's always a program to which are given to us by instructors to follow. As long as the program and the routines are performed, I don't think time is important. Others only go to gyms to develop some specific parts of their body, while others are for toning their muscles and others are to burn the fats on their body. I think you have to choose between these three groups to which you should belong, time is not important as long as you don't tire much of yourself.
