Have I met this person???? I live with her. My mother in law has no other subject for conversation than talking about how other people dress, if they colored their hair and why - her own interpretation of course - the way they raise their kids, why they bought a new car... well the list doesn't end believe me. For almost 15 years I listened and bit my tongue so I wouldn't respond in a completely rude way. I kept trying to find excuses for her behavior, after all she doesn't have much education or culture, she doesn't really have an interesting life, she doesn't have anything special to talk about.... But the truth is that it's just the way she is. I was glad when a few years back, due to another situation she actually gave me the opening to break apart and I"m feeling much better. WE still live in the same house although in different apartments, and I don't mind helping her out if she needs, interpreter for her , or anything she might need help with, but there's no more having lunch together, or having a conversation after dinner .. social interaction has basically stopped, and it's great not to have to listen to that kind of stuff anymore.

I can't stand snobby people. That's what your friend sounds like to me, a snob. No, I don't mind other people's business...not unless they are asking me or did something bad in front of me (i.e. hit their ole lady or kid).

I get irritated when someone has nothing to do but to judge other people and always makes comments on something. Why shouldn't they mind their own business?

I think women in general are bad about getting into other peoples business. We have a habit of sticking our noses where they don't belong, especially if we really don't care for the person.

I have friends like that- and my mom is even like that, she’s so critical of others- I keep telling them to just mind their own business because sometimes, it annoys the person that their being critical at… But It's kind of hard to stop these people from being like that because It's just the way that they are. But as much as I can, I try to remind them to be a little more considerate as to when, where and who they will be critical at. I try to tell them to put themselves in those people’s shoes, would they like to be treated the same way they treat others? I think not. =)

It is her trying to make her life more interesting and meddling with others that is the problem
