I run a food pantry for low income families and I always try to stay aware of any other resources that may help these families. I thought I would share one such site with you. I hope that it will help someone who needs a littl extra help. This site is Resources for Low income Families. It has food assistance links, low income home energy assistance program, free medicine for low income families as well as links to other resources. http://freefamilyresources.com/id16.htm They have some great resources. They also have many other resources available. The main page can be found here. http://freefamilyresources.com/index.htm The left hand colomn is where you will find all the programs. Please share these with others who may need assistance of any kind.I have many more programs that I refer my clients to if any of you are interested, just post a comment and I will post another discussion on them. Together we can make a difference.

I will be checking this out. We are considered poor since our housefire and will see if they have antyhing that will be of use for us to get back on our feet after all this time since our housefire. Thanks for sharing this and being one that helps people like us! Takes a special person and the rewards should be heaped upon you, not that you look for that kind of thing.

True, it has been difficult, the kids lost the most. I have been able to save some things. Just been difficult to just get any interest in rebuilding so we can be contributing members to society again. Thanks again for this information!!

Great links Anne. There is a wealth of information and resources between those two links. I read for 45 minutes! I have a friend who helps with our local food bank. I have sent the two links to her. Thanks!

I am glad you found it useful. There is a lot of info available out there but seems the ones who need it most find it difficult to find the help. I think we all need to be actively involved with making the world a better place to live for everyone. Even the small things can help alot when you are in need.

I checked it out and bookmarked the pages. I will look better when I have more time. I am always being asked about food banks or bill assistance. I am sure this will come in very handy for me in the future, probably many times. Thank you for sharing with all of us.

Wow, I didn't know about these but will certainly save and share with others. Actually I know a couple that could use help right now. It's always so difficult in the winter when heat bills rise and many job lay-offs after Christmas.

This is a bad time of year for our area too. Most people work in the woods and when the weather is bad like this. They cant work. Since they make about 7.50 an hour, they dont get much unemployment when they can get it.

That is very kind of you and I will make sure to pass it on to other people. Although I don't need the sites myself. I wanted to say thanks for all that you are doing because people like you should get our praise and good wishes for what you do. It's nice to know that if I ever fall on hard times that there is somebody willing to help. Again thanks and bless you.

I suggest that you have to find the customers need nearby and daily pass by your store, if your store is near the street or on the corner you have to consider what food they like, what you can buy to sell quickly. Or you make your small store moving on the cart around the town or the city for sell.
