Windows XP - Windows XP is a upgraded client version of Windows 2000, Windows XP provides numerous changes to the user interface, including the Start menu, Taskbar and contol panels. XP adds improved support for gaming, digital photography, instant messaging and wireless networking. XP Home Edition is designed for the consumer, and XP Professional is aimed at the officce worker with the added security and administrative options. XP supports the ClearType display technology for improved sharpness on LCD screens
I have had Windows XP forever. I actually love XP myself. I want to try Vista, but with all the many issues with it, I'd probably wait and besides I hear your computer has to be compatible with it also. I'm not trying to buy another pc..lol

Windows XP Starter Edition Windows XP Starter Edition is a lower-cost version of Windows XP available in Thailand, Turkey, Malaysia, Indonesia, Russia, India, Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Chile, Mexico, Ecuador, Uruguay and Venezuela. It is similar to Windows XP Home, but is limited to low-end hardware, can only run 3 programs at a time, and has some other features either removed or disabled by default. According to a Microsoft press release, Windows XP Starter Edition is "a low-cost introduction to the Microsoft Windows XP operating system designed for first-time desktop PC users in developing countries." It is seen as an effort to fight unauthorized copying of Windows XP and possibly the spread of GNU/Linux-based systems in Asia and South America. [edit] Specializations The Starter Edition includes some special features for certain markets where consumers may not be computer literate. Not found in the Home Edition, these include localized help features for those who may not speak English, a country-specific computer wallpaper[6] and screensavers, and other default settings designed for easier use than typical Windows XP installations. In addition, the Starter Edition also has some unique limitations to prevent it from displacing more expensive versions of Windows XP.[7] Only three applications can be run at once on the Starter Edition, and each application may only open three windows. The maximum screen resolution is limited to 1024×768, and there is no support for workgroup networking or domains. In addition, the Starter Edition is licensed only for low-end processors like Intel's Celeron or AMD's Duron. There is also a 256MB limit on main memory, and an 80GB disk size limit (Microsoft has not made it clear, however, if this is for total disk space, per partition, or per disk). There are also fewer options for customizing the themes, desktop, and taskbar.

I also have Windows XP, it has brought me some problems in the past but after seeing a lot of friends coming back from Vista to XP due to compatibily problems of programs I realized that XP isn't that bad after all.

Windows XP is great! It support Good Graphics, better Network, and Better Gaming! less blue screen, better hardware support! Wireless Connection a thousand times better! And More Stable, and feeling great to install programs and maintain Performance, windows 98 looks nasty to me. I prefer Windows XP,less crashes, better kernel. Better Updates, and Less Crashes and MODERNIZED. Feels better to run have programs on too!

Well, I am using WindowxXP at the moment. I find it good and easy to use. I'm planning to switch to Vista once it has resolved its compatibility issues. =)

At the moment the one I prefer is Windows Xp but I haven't tryed yet Vista. Actually I have to say that it's a matter of computer because I have and I still use an old computer with Win 98 and it works quite good. This computer it is not "strong enaugh" to run XP and so the same with other computers that I use that run Win Xp but that can't run the new Windows Vista.

I've been using Windows XP for over 7 years now and enjoy it, I am scared of the new Windows Vista - I've been hearing its got a lot of bugs to work out of the system. So I'm waiting awhile before I switch.

I use Windows XP also and I love it. I had a Windows 2000 before my XP and it didn't like to work all the time. And my programs in XP work almost all the time. I'm saying almost all the time because if I say all the time they might just stop running altogether. So yeah Windows XP.

Hello littlered361970, thank you for bring out this discussion , because i have something to say about this. I just install an evaluation copy of Windows Vista on my home computer and did computer with Windows XP , but i find out that i prefer to WIndows XP for the time being. THis is because Windows XP is more compatible with those software, games and drivers, while WIndows Vista is still new and need some time to overcome those problem. So i will still stick on my Windows XP until microsoft resolved those problems in WIndows Vista.
