Since I was 20 and graduated from high school I have tried out a lot of different professions, cleaning at a hotel, working at McDonalds, call center both interviewing and selling stuff. I didn't like any of these jobs but I'm grateful because it made me sign up for university studies, and because I learned a lot while working there. For example, working in a restaurant made me understand what life is like for a waiter so now I don't complain if the food takes a while to get to the table because I know what's it like. Now I'm on my way to get a job in the computer industry so hopefully I'll enjoy that job more than my previous ones. What have been your previous jobs, and are you happy where you work now or plan to switch profession in a few years?

I am a stay at home mom and I love it, but I have worked in many other fields from fast food to call center to customer service/cashier. I am the same as you. I have worked at so many customer services things that I feel for the cashiers and the waiters. I never complain UNLESS the service person is just obviously incompentent and not doing their job. But, I never get mad if they are doing the best they can do. If I had my dream, I would LOVE to have some land where I could build kennels and another building and have a shelter for unwanted animals. I would have to have the money, though to do it and I don't. Nor do I have the room. That would be my dream. I helped out this man in Canada who had a little shelter at his home. He took in unwanted animals and helped find them homes. I would love to do that.

Oh I believe it. same thing happens here in the US. people get puppies and kittens and they are so cute and cuddly and then when they grow up, they just toss them out on some country road somewhere. i worked in an animal shelter for 3 years...the most fulfilling job I ever had and the hardest. You wouldn't believe the unwanted animals that came in there. we received over 200 animals PER DAY! And, then people get mad because shelters have to euthanise animals. I wonder why!!!

People seem to think that it's more ok to abandon a pet because there are shelters, but it's understandable that the shelters can't take care of them all. Everyone should get their pets from shelters rather than from stores. For me it's nice to be able to see a grown up cats personality as opposed to a kitten where you don't really know what they are going to end up like personalitywise.

That's such an amazing dream. I'm so sorry every time I hear about animals that have been thrown out on the streets to be left alone. It seems so unbelivable that there are people that don't take care of their animals. I know you won't belive this but in Sweden some people pick up a kitten and keep during the summer, and when it grows up they throw it out. It's so sad.

I have been working as government's employee since I was 19. This is my first and last job (that's the consequence for working for the government and I'm not planning to change my job) and I do love it. I'm now in process of continuing my study. I do want to start my own bussiness as well, let's say 5 years later or so, but only as a hobby.

I'm an RN by profession but believe it or not I am presently working as a Sales & Admin Coordinator in a company owned by my brother. It's been a childhood dream to be a nurse but when I got older I realized I wanted to work in an office. Luckily,my passion was granted.

I'm a teacher by profession, but I didn't work much as a teacher, only for 2 years altogether. I'm also a certified secretary, and I work as an office manager for 4.5 years. I've got good experience in many things, but after all I can't say I loved my job. I was paid well, but sometimes it seemed to me that I was working only for money. So I hope in some years I will switch profession. The problem is I don't know what I really want! Nowadays, I am a housewife and I enjoy sitting at home with my baby, but I also realize that some day in some years I'll have to return to work. Well, we'll see...

I have only really been in communications all my working life. It pays well but have been looking at career moves for the past few months. I am in terested in aviation and know qute a bit about the laws and physics on aircraft and aviation but dont know whether the £30-50k payment to train for 18 months as a commercial pilot would be worth the time or the reward Its an option i am considering

I hope you figure out if you prefer the money and everything that comes with it (not a bad choice either) or if ou prefer to work in the aviation industry! Good luck.

Its not the profession or the best position that matters most,in this kind of life whatever your job domestic, cleaners, secretary, nurse, sports player,doctors,etc...were all worthwhile doing it as long as you enjoy and loving doing it,the more you do it the more you get experience meaning the more you are sure what you are doing....

I have studied in Business Administration. I took management, human ressources and marketing courses. Now I work in Accounts Payable department at my work and I am looking forward to work with my girlfriend's father's restaurant. He offered me to work with him and to be partners in his restaurant. It's pretty known and busy restaurants. So I hope for the best.

FIghter pilot sounds dangerous, maybe it's better that you stay in the IT industry :) Interesting how your hobby almost sounds like the opposite to your profession!
