Have you tried flowering or blooming tea?

I saw this type of tea on several websites and was intriqued. If you go to http://www.worldpantry.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/CategoryDisplay?cgmenbr=175633&cgrfnbr=191380&hptype=ppcgoog&hbv1=floweringtea you can actually watch one of the teas in action. I just ordered a tea set with a clear teapot and an extra bouquet to have delivered to my mother for her birthday. She is a tea lover, so I hope she will love her gift. Never having tried the teas myself, I'm a bit nervous that they don't taste as wonderful as they look. Has anyone tried them? If so, do they live up to their appearance?

Yes, and they do taste wonderful. Just be sure NOT to put any sugar in with the tea, as they're meant to be tasted and smelled just as they are. And the scent of the teas are wonderful. They really do look like blossoming flowers in the cup, and often have a splash of color on the inside from a real (dried) flower that also adds to the flavor of the tea.

I've tried it once. It was really interesting and a fun unique alternative to regular tea.

my mom brought back a bunch of these from china and they are GREAT... they have a nice floral aroma to them... you really need a glass teapot or glass tea cup to be able to fully enjoy the beauty of these.

I bought this as a present for a Canadian girl here in Korea one Christmas. Not the same brand as you linked though. It's beautiful looking and and the homemade results look just like the pictures. The taste varies (I bought her three different herbs) and it's so pretty when it's made up that you can't help but enjoy it, especially with friends over.

I've had many different types of teas, but haven't heard of this type. What makes it different from other kinds of tea?

There is a new store called T2 in my local shopping centre, has all sorts of tea & tea orientated items. One of the things I found & bought was some blooming tea. (if you were in England, might sound rude… lol) I still haven’t tried it, as I only bought it to get out of the store; miss 10 was playing with items, & got talking to the sales lady. Looks impressive if nothing else.
