I'm right-handed. Being left-handed would have to be pretty annoying. Words would get smudged across the page.

"Being left-handed would have to be pretty annoying. Words would get smudged across the page." —LOL... you have a point there hitzphillygirl. That is unless you're writing in another language that goes from right to left. :)

I'm right handed. My mom is right handed. My father is left handed. My two brothers and my sister are left handed. I think it's in the genes.

There are several factors concerned. Other than genes traditional practices and habits do affect on choice of using hands. Sorry for my late replying and thank you for your response.

Im both handed(Is it the right way to say it?). It's simply because I was born right handed, but since my older sister was left handed, I kinda coppied her... so now I can use both of my hands for almost anything. Yes you're born with it. Its a brain issue. Left people use other sides of they're brains. Still, they only use a 10% of their brains, just like the rest of us.

I was told that people who used both hands are cleverer than those who use only one hand, but I don’t know whether it’s true or not.:D

youre lucky because not all people are "both handed".the person is called ambidextrous if he's using both of his hands with ease.

I am right-handed. Coz my parents had trained me to use my right hand bcoz alot of thing are designed for right-handed people ie writing (word) & guitar. There are guitars specially made for left handed people but very rare. Now i am training my left hand to improve my right-brain power. Right hand is connected to our left brain, which control our logical thinking and arithmatic portion, while left hand is linked to our right brain, which help us in creativity, art & language activity. I am using left hand to control my mouse during work in my company :)

I appreciate your information of the scientific explanation concerning use of hands related with brains. It’s quite nice for you to exercise your left hand so as to activate your right brain’s functions.:D

i'm right handed and i think i am born with it. my daughter, who is now 1.5 yrs old, seem to use her left hand more. i don't force her to use her right hand since it may just confuse her. i just let her be.

I think it is genetic, All of my children were abidextrious (use both right and left)until after they were 6years old. They would use on hand more to cut and one hand more to write and so on. Then they became more apt to just use on after that! My son is Lefty My daughter is righty, and I am righty, My ex husband their father is lefty and so is there aunt His siter, so maybe it goes by the male gene? I don't know for sure. But Me and my kids can still use both if we need too

Im a left-handed person.(",) I don't think it is inborn because it is a learned skill when you are still young. I supposed that I became left-handed because my sister who is tutoring me before and teaching me to write is also left-handed. Most often, I forget that I still have my right hand.hehehe.Because I overused my left hand so much. It's funny when writing in the blackboard because while I'm writing I unintentionally erase what I'm writing.(",)

It's quite normal that a child does learn through imitation as in your case. But certain inborn skills or talents will remain unaffected. Thanks for your interesting description.

i'm right handed myself, my writing with both hands suck, both are almost unreadable =D but my 2 feet are practically the same when i shoot, ok not to dribble, but the shot is almost equal. I think you're born with it, it's in your genes, but i know people that are born left handed and write with their right hand. i also know some people that were right handed and left footed.... :|

Yeah diansinta, using both hands could exercise and stimulate both our left and right brain, so we could do things good in every aspect. Moreover this might prevent us to have dementia. Of curse what I had mentioned here was learnt from some articles earlier. Nowadays, I also strive hard to use my left hand more often. I am really glad that I can write and sketch with my left hand now, though the writing and sketching still seem like those of the primary students’. I hope I could use both my hands smoothly when doing thing in time to come. It’s nice to know that you can use your both hands for writing. I believe more practicing would improve your left hand writing. Later on it might be difficult for others to distinguish your pretty writing was actually done by which hand. Happy posting and have a nice day.

I write by right hand.., but with an interesting feature.. i love to read books from the last page.. If you give me a story book.. i read the introduction first.. and go to last page.. Most of the daily chores which people do, conveniently comes to me with ease.. with the left hand.also, such as counting of "cash notes" lifting of weights.. but all with ease. So some of my friends say that i am ambidextrous.

Hi saivenkaat, you are great that you can use both of your hands with ease. In my culture and custom using right hand is the normal practice of most of the people. Normally, a person who reads the introduction and then the last page first shows that he is eager to know the whole story and the ending hurriedly. I hope you are not an impatient reader and could enjoy your reading all the time. posting and have a nice day.

Hi friend of left handed, I don’t agree with you that you are born to be left handed. As your grandma and dad are left handed so it might be that you followed them when you were a little kid. Am I right? Happy postings, guy.

I had read an article from a magazine about how to train people to be more intelligent years back. We are encouraged to use both of our hands evenly everyday so as to stimulate both the right and left brain. Each half of the brain does the different functions. Haha .... I think I would better to try to learn by using my left hand more frequently. Take care and happy posting.
