One night my husband and I both woke up in the middle of the night to the sound of something scratching on our door. We always keep the door to our room closed at night out of habbit. Anyway, our dog sleeps with us in bed and she usually has to go potty some time in the night and she always jumps off the bed and goes and scratches on the door to be let out. Well, my husband and I were really tired and we were taking our time to let her out. And you know if the room is really quiet you can hear if someone is walking on the carpet? Well, we could hear our dog jumping all over the carpet like she was doing the pee-pee dance. I even heard her come over to my side of the bed to scatch to get me out of bed. Well when my husband got out of bed and opened the door, nothing was there. So he called her cuz we thought she might have been under the bed. But there was nothing. He called her again, and then I realised there was something under the covers at the end of the bed by my feet. I reached down and it was my dog daisy. She had never even left the bed. My husband and I looked at eachother and when we both realized that she hadnt been the one scratching at the door, a huge gust of wind almost blew our blinds off our wall. The gust was ral strong cuz we have heavy wood blinds. And the weird thing was, our window wasn't even opened but an inch wide. By that time we were both wide awake. We didn't know what just happened there and it was kinda freaky. What do you say about this? Has something like this happened to you?

When I lived on the east coast of the U.S, Massachusetts to be exact, I lived in a sixplex that was definitely "haunted" by more that one being, if you will. I had never been so terrified in all of my life. My first thought when I read your story was, "I wonder if they've ever had another pet that has passed away". According to Sylvia Brown, your past pets will come and "visit" as well, after they get to the "other side". Other than that, I can't imagine what or who it was, but I know the feeling. Good Luck!

I have had a couple of experiences like this. The other night, I was home on my own, and just relaxing in bed. Normally, when my housemates are home, I can hear them moving about upstairs, floorboards creaking and such. Standard house noises. However, when I was alone, I could still hear the same noises. There were still footsteps above me, the floorboards still creaked as if someone was stood on them. Strangely, there was never any sense of being threatened, so I'm happy to accept the noises.

That is very strange but yes, I have had something like this happen. It was years ago and I was babysitting my 2 younger sisters while my parents went out with friends. I always slept with my bedroom door closed but on nights when my parents were out I would leave my door open so I could hear my sisters if one got up then when Mom came home she would close my door. Well, something woke me up and I thought is was one of the girls maybe going to the bathroom so I watched the hallway to see which one it was - they would have to pass my door to get to the bathroom from their room. While I was laying there I saw my door close, then open, then close again, and then open all the way. There was no one at the door. The really strange thing is there is no way it could have been a draft or anything. When my parents built the house there were tile floors in my room. We later added shag carpet that was very thick and the door was too low but my father wasn't a handy man and never shortened the door. It was a bit difficult to open and close the door. Needless to say I didn't sleep until my parents got home and I told them. Mom tried to "explain" it away but nothing worked.

Sometimes in a half sleep state we hear things that may or may not be what we usually hear but we will in our minds match it to what we are most familiar with. On the other hand there are often times when things go bump in the night.

all very weird and strange stories....kudos for sharing those experiences. I do believe they are hauntings of some sort. The only weird thing I have ever had happen to me was one time me and my boyfriend both woke up at the same time in the middle of night simply because we felt an evil or threatening presence their. It was strange and took us a while to both go back to sleep.
