Is anyone watching John Edwards on the Oprah show? What do you think? Is he communicating with those who have passed on (died) or is he some sort of fraud? Do you think certain people can communicate with the deceased?

I'm always a disbeliever until I have solid proof. I've heard comments and read excerpts of things where they claim he preps people before hand or uses very generic things. I have heard him use techniques that frauds use, "I'm getting something from someone with the letter L in his name" Well duh... eventually we're going to find SOMEONE we know with that. And if you watch closely he changes up quick too, when things aren't going right. Instead of "the letter L" being someone on the other side.. it becomes the person is talking about someone with the letter L or something. I am not 100% sure on this guy. I do think many have the ability and perhaps he has some, but I'm almost certain that a good half of what he does is showmanship. Just my thoughts on it.

I agree that for the most part he appears to be cold reading.

Yes I do believe there are people who have the ability to do this. When he tells you something that no one else knows, it's hard to explain then how he knew it.

Do you think it might be possible for people to read one's mind? It might be a case of that?

I thought it was already proven a few years ago that he was a fraud. I don't know. I believe that people really do have gifts like that, but I don't think they should go flaunting them around on television.

I'm not certain if he was proven a fraud, but I do admit that he appears to be cold reading or phishing at times. I think that if someone is on TV and that they are making a lot of money from their "gifts" than the need to perform is going to be much stronger. Cheers!

You know I'm so mixed on this. I have seen him on tv when he had his own show and I didn't feel like he picked anything that was really specific. I mean he'd say I see someone with an M do you know anyone's name that starts with an M?? Well I would think most of us can. But on the other side he has a huge following and I don't think he would if he were a fraud. Now the lady that was on after him really interested me. She in my opinion was more specific and zoned in a bit more. I think even Oprah was beginning to believe more when this women came out. I'd like to think it is true because I'd love to have a reading. I guess that's the only way I'll ever know if it's true or not.

I agree that the second guest seemed much more credible. Cheers!

I mean he's not a fraud. He does communicate but the question is how accurate he is and how accurate is he when he has to go 'out on the show!'. Can he turn it on when he needs to? It's one thing putting yourself out to the masses if you really want to help people. It's another thing when you get hooked on the fame and the money it produces. The problem when you go so commercial is that you then have to produce. You have to be 'on' when they need you to be. Not when, spirit, feels it's the right time, place or event for information to be shared. What does a psychic do if spirit says nuh-uh sorry..not now....it happens :) Nancy

I dont know the bible says to steer clear of those who say they have psychic abilities. So, I'd have to say no, based on my faith.
