Beacuse we have had a warm winter strawberries are ready to be picked.....2 months early. Yeaterday my husband and I went and without realizing it, we pick 2 1/2 pounds. My husband is the only one who eats them, so I am looking for ideas as to what to do with some of them. Do they freeze well? Thanks!!

Someone on this site actually had a recipe for a facemask using strawberries. I will try to track it down for you and let you know where it is, if you're interested.

I think you can freeze them and make fresh strawberry shake with vanilla ice cream. Or strawberry shortcake with angel food cake and whipped cream. If they are sweet, you can do a lot with them or even eat them just like that.

Angle food cake might be nice. Half with beries for my husband, other half plain for me.

oh yummm .... ( I love fresh picked strawberries! ) They do freeze well, either whole or sliced, plain or with just a tiny touch of sugar water. I can remember as a child going with my family and spending a whole day in a strawberry field ... then then next two days or so at home fixing them up to freeze! Frozen ones work well in cooking, or to make a smoothie type drink with. They are also very good for you. Berries contain a lot of good nutrients.
