I ask that Mormons do not take any of this offensively and do not reply to this. I would like opinions from non-Mormon christians. I have a sort of skeptical view on Mormons. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate them... but I don't like them either. First of all, I dislike their beliefs: Poligamy, Jesus coming to the Native Americans..., (I don't know if this is one of the main beliefs but I know it is a Mormon belief) that God was an Alien who lived a very righteous life and in result was annointed as God by the Council of Gods, etc. All this to me sound like bs. They contradict the bible, such as there is only one God, and when Jesus comes, it will be the end of the world. Another thing, I would like to critcize their 'fervent', if that is what its called, faith. To me, them going around the neighborhood reminds me of Pharisees, who just had to show off their 'righteousness' or their faith. What about you?

The Mormons worship the godhead which is polytheism and goes against what the Bible says. Also, they added the Book Of Mormon and that too goes against what the Bible says. Visit http://www.exmormon.org where there are many hopeful stories of people who have escaped from this cult.

LDS idolizes a false prophet and gives false teachings. Their Book of Mormon and Doctrines & Covenants publications contradict each other and both go against what the Bible teaches. According to Joseph Smith, God has not always been God, but was a man first who became a God. The scriptures clearly state that God has always been God. (see Deuteronomy 4:39, Psalms 93:2, Isaiah 40:28, Romans 16:26) Teaching that God at one time was not God is clearly a false doctrine.

It is extremely offensive that you would refer to the LDS church as being a cult or a sect when it most certainly is not. To quote Elder Wm. Grant Bangerter: "I would like to speak about what it means to be a saint. Some people call us Mormons. Some call us a sect or a cult. We call ourselves Saints. What do these designations signify? A Mormon could be any kind of person who has a membership in the Church. A sect is a body of persons following certain principles or doctrines. The earliest followers of the savior were called a sect. A cult is described as a particular system of religious worship having a fixed veneration for a person. A saint is one who follows Christ in holiness and devotion with a fixed view on eternal life. With proper understanding, there is nothing wrong with any of these designations. When they are used to imply ridicule or slander, they can all be offensive" The Latter-Day Saints could well be referred to as a cult, but if you mean it in a slanderous fashion then you are certainly wrong. It is true the LDS church believes in the godhead as three separate beings, but as far as I know this does not go against the belief of the Bible, just certain interpretations of it.

I have had some very interesting encounters with Mormons. #1 they are willing to volunteer to help the elderly and needy in any religion without bias when other religions often help their own. Second, there seems to be a strange closeness with Mormon families like brothers and sisters. Hey you know Donny and Marie Osmond are Mormon. There are alot of Mormon politicians. One of our Secretaries of State was Mormon. I have noticed some ploy of power positions in banking, medical and financial and even the security industry. The Mormons also have a multi-billion dollar stake in the film industry as well. I feel that the relgion might be a guise to getting deductions for financial endeavors that normally honest regular people are taxed on. It may be more of a financial wheel than an actual religion.

Yes I think this is true for some mormons. I have heard that having multiple wives can actual help you evade taxes...

You are quite the comedian, the official LDS church does not condone plural marriages whatsoever. Some break-away branches from the church in its early days still practice this.

I am not 100% sure about their beliefs, but if they are Christian, than I have no say on them. I am only annoyed when they get aggressive about promoting their religion. I don't like it when anyone pushes their faith on me no matter what it is. I believe that's the fastest way to drive people away from God.

They (LDS) present themselves as a Christian religion, but that is not the case at all. Sadly, many people are suckered in before they find out what the church is truly about.
