Ever give your dog a bath and clog your bathtub with his or her hair? Ever wish that you could wash your dog somewhere else so you would not have to clean up the mess without paying a dog groomer? Ever go to wash your dog and realize that you do not have all the supplies you need? Well, a local store has opened in Tulsa, OK. The Sloppy Dog Wash. Here you can take your dog there to be groomed or wash him/her yourself. All supplies are there! Just bring your dog and wash/groom! Check out the website! :) Is this something that you would use? This is the first I have ever heard of this kind of store. What are your thoughts about this store? http://www.sloppydogwash.com/index.html

We have a car wash near us that built a room on the side and has a pet wash. I have seen lots of people use it, mostly with big dogs. I have never wet in, but it sounds like a good idea. Would keep you from getting your house all wet.

LOL! What a great, fun idea! I know that giving a dog a bath isn't always the easiest thing in the world, especially without making a big mess. So if you could do it somewhere away from home, with every supply that you would need there, I think that it would be so much easier and so much cheaper than taking your pet to a professional groomer. I really love this idea, and I hope that we get something like it here in Missouri by the time I get to own a dog again, since I absolutely want to have a dog again when I move out.. if I ever get my own place, that is! LOL ^_^

It does sound like fun but I wouldn't know how to clean my dogs ears or trim her nails. I sure do hope you've got a dog by now

I think that is a really cool idea!! I would utilize that for sure :) Maybe I'll open up a branch of my own - hahaha (got to have money to make it). It's neat so see what people come up with. If they're sucessful they could really branch out! Is Tulsa close to you?

We have such a store here in Charleston, WV. It's called a pet wash. They have different height tubs, sinks, showers, all kinds of washing and grooming products for sale and towels to rent if you forgot yours or need more. Its self serviced with coin boxes to turn on the water like at the laundry. Hello! Business opportunity!

I always give my dog a bath myself. I have never taken him to a groomer. I checked out the site and I dont think I would ever use it but I do like the idea of donating your used colars so they can be used on dogs that will be adopted. I wonder if they are getting very much business? I am very curious as to whether this place will be a thriving business or now

There is a similar buisness in Harrisburg, Pa, near where I live. In decent weather, it's ingenious :) ! Yes, I must admit it's a terrible mess and inconvenience to wash my Scottie at home. Sometimes, however, I'm afraid that he will start a fight with another dog there and get dirty all over again. This has kept me from trying this establishment out, but when the spring heats up, it's going to be one of my first stops. If your dog likes to ride in the car, it would be a nice way to get him/her to go without a great deal of fuss. Best of luck!

Considering how popular dog-walking services are, I guess this is the next logical progression. I don't have a dog and have never had to wash one, so can't comment on whether I'd dislike bathing a dog enough to pay someone to do it for me!

Lets see... how long would it take me to get to Tulsa? It may just be worth it to have some one wash my dog for me. The old girl needs a bath. I guess now that I thought about it I am going to have to wash her... Thanks a lot Tia, you owe me one dog washing!

Awww...poor baby! :P I like washing my dog in a weird kind of way! But, I don't like bending down and washing them. Or, rinsing out the yucky, soapy dog hair!! Now, go wash your dogs! :D

There's one of those (different name) in Dallas too! I have never been in, but it seems like a great idea. Just kinda funny the first time you see it.

What a great idea! These people are probably going to do very well in this business venture! It would be so much easier than trying to get a dog into the laundry tubs like so many people do, and it would certainly be nice not to have to clean up the mess, as you pointed out. You could wash and dry the dog, give him a treat, and be done with it. Having the right supplies there is a great idea, too. I would definitely use it, and I would think that a lot of people would love the idea. I was reading a post the other day from someone who wanted to know how to get rid of stains around the eyes of a white dog- I hope they read about the Blueberry Facial at the Sloppy Dog Wash!

I have heard of this. They had one of these combined with a car wash. I thought it was funny, but dogs need to get clean too. It is far cheaper than a dog groomer. If I had a dog then yes I would use it. So I wouldn't have to worry about the mess and not pay the price of the groomers. I think this store is very helpful and a great idea. The car/dog wash didn't have all the supplies only the area to wash the dog. So it's not exactly the same.

yes it is really a strange kind of shop as i am hearing this for the first time and this works out to be very good as far as my knowledge and it is really a good new business to start with.I hope this ll go up and be a very famous shop.

I'd definitely think about using it! For one you don't get all the problems of washing the dog at home and making a big mess , especially if you find that something you need just ran out, the facilities will be specially made for it so it will get cleaner and you'll actually get the job done as sometimes it just didn't come out right. And you won't have the situation that was discussed a few days ago of the groom cutting your dogs ear off and gluing it back on. ;)

I've heard of those kinds of grooming shops and definately would use it in the cold months of fall/winter/spring. Durning the warm months, I give my dog a bath outside. I have a bad back so I can't wash him in the tub. Those self-serve grooming shops have raised tubs which is ideal cause your back won't be hurting from bending/kneeing over a tub.

That is so cool. I think it really is a great idea. But, I don't have a dog now, but if I did, I think I still would do it myself. But, not in the bath. I would take the dog into the shower with me with a sprayer. It would be very easy that way. And no cost.

That is the first time I have every heard of that also! But, it bet that it would be pretty to cool to come into a store and just wash your dog!! Your tub would not be covered and clogged with dog hair, and you can stand up and wash your dog! That is a great thing also. My back starts to hurt...and if you sit down it is harder you get wetter(is that a word?). Thanks for the website! I would love to visit it someday. And maybe I can even give my dogs a Blueberry Facial! :D

When we wash the dogs it is done outside. This kind of thing would need appointments to prevent much interactions between the dogs. Also some might want a more sterile environment for their pooches. Also wonder at how expensive it might be. Would be a good trip after the ice cream shop!!

checked it out, would be a bit more money than I would spend. They do have a good program though and can see how valuable it could be for pet owners. Thanks for sharing it.

It certainly beats having all the mess in your bathroom doesn't it .. but wouldn't it stress out the dog (or cat, mine loved 'bath night') more going somewhere unfamiliar .. I think I've seen these dog wash thingies or an innovations programme here in the UK .. great for folks with big dogs and tiny bathrooms ..

Alright!!! Thats what we need. I saw only one so far and it was in Katy TX. You know there are a lot of people who live in apartments or what not and would love to use these. I hope it takes off with a bang.

I don't have the proper training to properly wash a dog, ears and all, so I prefer to take her to a groomer where they are trained on the proper ways to clean the ears and cut her nails.
