Did your baby have one or does your baby use one now? Do you believe it's helpful or not? All my kids used one and it helped them be good and quiet babies. They never cried unless something was really wrong with them. Just wondering how many others used them.

I used on with all 3 of my kids. They weaned themselves off of them by 6 months old. They are helpful as long as you use them when the baby needs them not when you need the baby quiet.

My son would never take one, even as a tiny infant, he would just spit it out and suck on his fingers or thumb. He sucked his thumb until he was about four years old, then gave it up himself. I never discouraged him from doing it. And I never had any problems with his teeth growing in crooked, as they say will happen.

My kids never needed a pacifier. I nursed them and then we played when they could. My kids too were fun and did not have many problems either. I was there and we included them any chance we could. I knew that they learn from very young so I would read to them while they nursed or sang. I danced with them if they needed held and that was quality time. My older one was enlisted to help me and I would include her while I had to tend to baby. So no need for no pacifier.

DS uses one. He's 14 months. He just likes to suck and it soothes him. He only really uses it when he's really tired, or at bedtime. He used it more often when he was younger, but it hasn't kept him quiet. He uses about 50 words, and can talk just fine when he has his binky. He does cry when he's tired or frustrated, but for the most part he's just a happy baby.

my baby had one until she was 8 months old. she had to have it all the time, she lost them a lot too. i always had to buy the same kid because she wouldnt take any other kind. one night she was tired so i put her in bed she was crying and i was looking for her binky. by the time i found it she had already fallen asleep. she never took it again. when she took it i thought it was very helpful because it made her stop crying and relaxed her. but i am glad she got rid of it, it was getting expensive

Every little kid I know had one, and they kept them quiet and entertained. I was told I had one when I was little, till I bit the end off of it, tossed it, and never wanted one again.

Both of my kids had them, but didn't keep them for long. They never had to be broke per say, it was just one day they dropped them. I heard that they give them problems with teeth, and other problems, but both of my kids did not have any.

My son had one for awhile, I didn't want him to have one, but a certain relative visited us one day and gave him one when I wasn't in the room. I was livid and of course my son loved it. He really liked it when he cut his first teeth, he just chomped on it. Then one night, he fell asleep and spit it out. When he woke up he didn't want it, he was 6 months old. He went the day without wanting it so I threw all of them out!
