5 Pound baby born that was 29 1/4 inches long

I was reading our local news paper, that a baby was born that weighed 5 pounds and was 29 1/4 inches long. Did you ever see a baby born that long? Not me.The longest baby I seen was 22 1/2 inches long and that was my own baby. But 29 1/4 inches long beats me.

Wow babystar that is absolutely amazing..That is quite a tall baby..Wonder if this will carry on..later..when the baby is in in school..Was the baby a boy or a girl?+

The baby was a boy. It was in our Sundays newpaper. My husband could not believe that a baby could be that long when its born , In fact I cant believe it myself.

Didn't see that one. Will be neat if we see how the child grows up. Might be a really tall person or not. Would be great to check in on the family from time to time. Length I don't remember but my boy was 10 pounds. My only claim to fame. Thanks for sharing this news!

You are welcome. my bigest baby weighed 9 pounds and was 22 1/2 inches long he now is over 6' tall.

May b i should n't reply u but i am replying to u as number u r on my buddy list and 2ndly, i came to know a new thing about babies weight and height. Actually, i am a teen ager gal and never saw any new born baby yet so i do n't have any idea about height or weight of a new born baby but once, a gal told me that her younger sister was 6 pounds when she was born and was really very healthy.

6 pounds is a healthy weight, but I was saying that I never seen a new born baby that long.Thanks for your comment.

I would like to know if the newspaper prints a correction soon. Please keep track of this and let us all know. My thought is that it was 19 1/4 inches long, and the paper just got it in there wrong. That would be an awfully skinny baby if it turned out to be true. The other possibility is that this was two typo's and the weight was also wrong.

Wow... How tall will the baby grow, Thanks to you I now have a record of the longest baby. Havent seen even a 22 1/4 long.

Is it at all possible that that is a typo on the part of the newspaper? That baby would be the better part of a yard long! And just think of how skinny and scrawny it would be, too. Please post back if the newspaper makes a correction. I would be tempted to think that there was something horribly wrong if that was an accurate size.

WOWSERS! That baby is very long and probably very thin. I have never seen a newborn that long but my Dad was 11 pounds and 29 inches when he was born. He was half grown, LOL.
