I would say everyone of us has given and received gifts, money, peoples time etc. at some time or other. Receiving is brilliant, but do you get any satifaction out of it like you do when you give? Most of us are here to make a little extra money and we all give something, be it information advise, whatever. How does it make you feel to give without a personal objective?

Hi, i would say i do give a lot more than what i recieve. I try and help as many as i can if they need stuff doing and dont expect any return for it. I guess its in my nature to be that way, there are times when i do get told certain people are taking advantage but i ignore it as i want a simple life without any arguments

I love to give things to people for no reason. The best feeling is when I bring my girlfriend flowers for no reason. The love in her eyes and her smile is everything I need.

I would have to agree with that. I WISH I got as much as I give though!

I personally would rather give than receive. I am not really good at receiving anything. I have always had a hard time accepting things from other people. But there are times when it is necessary to humble ones self and receive what we are given.

I enjoying giving people gifts without excepting anything in return. I just feel good about. I don't really like to receive gifts though. It makes me feel a little bit uncomfortable. I totally enjoy sharing inforamtion and links on the interent. I can't say I like one better than the other. I like sharing what I know. And when others do they same it's awesome.

I'm more of giving person. I always enjoy seeing the smiles on people faces, especially my wife and son. It's nicer being giving then receiving everything under the sun in my opinion. It's nice to give and receive both ways. ~Joey

giving away without expecting anything gives joy. If you give something with some vested interest it can give you bad results only

I always prefer to give rather than receive. There is a greater joy in giving than receiving. Secondly there is a saying : more you give more you get!!!.

Giving without expecting anything is the only way to be. Never understood why people had to expect something. If we all would act on this premise then the world would be so much better than it is now. We would end up getting things so we would also need to be gracious receivers. A grand scenerio for this world.

Hi Jan, to give and receive is such a wonderful feeling. Most often we are so caught up in receiving that we forget to give. One example is when I first began on myLot I always wondered what it took to get a best response. I thought my response would never be good enough to be marked the best response. I also didn't know that responses, discussions and comments need to be rated. I realized all this after 2 weeks in to mylotting and finally I went about rating everybody and also marking best responses. You won't believe the very next day I had 6 best responses and a few weeks later when the star rating came into existence, I had a 10 (99/100) so that itself told me my responses and discussions were actually being rated! So I just received what I gave:)

Oh yes I would believe that everyone has given and received some kind of gift. Oh yes I feel so wonderful when I give to others it make me feel great, to give to others especially when you give them a surprise as they not expecting anything, and you can see the look on their face. It makes me feel great to give without receiving direct personal gift.

I think I like both, I like to receive and at the same time I also love to give. But if I have many money then I prefer to give gifts.

I think life is about both giving and receiving. It's nice to give, but if you don't get anything in return, you should make conclusions. And by receiving anything in return, this doesn't always have to be material. Friendship might be a major factor if you want to know whether you're friends are either real friends or people that only like you for what they receive...

I am usually the one who gives. I won't say that it isn't nice to receive something once in a while, but I really love the satisfaction that I feel from the charity work that I do. I love to volunteer my time and talents to help others.

Well I was raised it is better to give then it is to recieve. I am not sure if you have ever heard of Freecycle but I run a local chapter in my home town. The whole concept of it is to give to others things that we don't need anymore with no strings attached (free) instead of tossing those items in the garbage. But people can also ask for things that they could use or need as well with the same thing being, no strings attached. I prefer to give things away to those who need them verses asking for things that I need. It makes me feel good that I have helped someone out.
