Don't you just hate it when people do this on MyLot?

It's sad to see some people on MyLot answering just for the sake of answering. I've gone through some really nice discussions today and with reall nice answers as well and all of a sudden *boom* I see a really wacky comment that isn't even related to the topic! My goodness. I'd think that as mature people, we'd know how to respect. I know... I know... it's a free country but even freedom has it's limitations. Writing nonsense is just down right disrespectful in my opinion. It destroys the flow of the discussion and gets other serious people irritated. I hope that beforewriting down something, think about the quality of the post. This is for OUR own good as well. Don't you agree?

I have noticed this also on some of my discussions. They also post to topics on someone else's response instead of replying to me, the person who started the discussion. I think they just do it, to get the points racked up to get more earnings. Mylot will probably find these types of posts and delete them anyways. They will also deduct earnings from it also. I don't respond to topics unless I have some knowledge or good input for it. I think we should all respond with quality for the best earnings.

Hello..... Mylot, in all probability, will not find and remove errant posts. They need to be reported to make them aware of idiots that can't respond on topic. Tom

I don't get why people waste time writing replies that have nothing to do with the discussion. I mean, whats the point? Are they really that desperate to earn a few extra cents? I was under the impression that MyLot pays for Quality rather than Quantity, so if you post something that has nothing to do with the discussion, you're not going to get anything, and you've wasted a lot of time as well as destroying the discussion for other more serious people. It irritates me when I see people post ridiculous replies to a discussion that has obviously been well thought out, and had a lot of time and effort put into it. A response that has nothing to do with the topic undermines the hard work thats been put into posting the discussion.

I know... I guess I'm not the only one who feels this way... I know here at MyLot, it will always be Quality over Quantity...

At times like this, I ask myself, what would Severus Snape do? And I answer myself...CRUCIO their keister! In all seriousness, yes, it makes me nuts when people just put something random in just for the sake of being random. Don't they have anything more appropriate to say? It isn't as if there are a lack of discussions going around. The chances are pretty good that their randomness would actually fit somewhere else.

Ha! Curse the Dark Lord? Perish that thought. I am indeed up and about. I've been trying to think of something witty to say for my friends here.

My friend! Glad to see you up and about... I thought they'd put a curse on you... *sigh* I know... I know... Their randomness would not fit anywhere... much as they tried.

I know, and I don't really understand why people do it, either. Do they not think that they will get noticed? Personally, if i see a topic that I know I have nothing to add to it, I will just move on and look for another one. I would rather do that than look really foolish trying to answer a question about something where I had no idea of what I was trying to talk about. And you're right, it is also rather disrespectful to the person who started the topic.

I know how that feels my friend. I hope that people would consider what others would think. It doesn't matter if people go against the discussion... but to post something that's not even related... sigh... I think I'll just go and hit my head on the wall for a sec... =P

oooh noooo, you poor baby, see , you've been noticed, and I'm even sniffling a little on your behalf, or no wait, I have a head cold, but okay, one or two of those were emotional sniffles.On your behalf, and a gentle pat on your head, too. I wasn't even gonig to write on this thread, but sad eyed children standing outside the restaurant windows are enough to make me want to run out and give them my dinner. Just so, your sad little post made be want to rush forward full of response. Better now??;

You are right, it is annoying to see some answers which are not related to your discussions, or just nonesense..I can't understand what those people are and what they are doing here...But this kind of answers is just a small proportion of myloters.

Yes, that's agreeable. For me, I'd rather gladly accept a response which opposes to my own views for as long as it contains sense and logic other than some silly responses out there which didn't contain any sense or logic. They are only creating nuisances.

I totally agree with you. It's a pity that some people only answer one word or one sentence answers. And some not related to the entire discussion at all! I admit that I use to post one sentence comments but now, I don't already. It does no good to me and it also does no good to others. I mean, who would want to read one sentence answers? They won't be taken seriously. I also see many similar discussions going on. And after answering one topic, I'd notice another discussion with the same topic. I hope there'll be more varieties later on. And I also hope people will post more descriptive comments.

At least you're not one of them anymore... Lol... =P I guess when it comes to the variety of discussions, could that be just coincidence? ^_^

I am only new at this and have wondered how on earth people can come up with hundreds of numbers beside their names, maybe this is the reason why as you say just writing anything to get the numbers up. I am sure there are a lot who do genuinely reply and so far I have got a few who have but I'm hoping that I won't get some really bland responses as I like to sit down and think about how I reply to each person. I do wonder though if it gets a bit of a chore to reply to all and thats when you get the not so nice and illogical posts.

I understand what you are saying, but sometimes because I'm not a native english speaker, I'm afraid of what I'm witting is not exactly what I want to write. And that can cause people to think that we just make nonsense comments. This is not an excuse. It's a fact that sometimes must be taken into account when judging the quality of the comments.

It's okay if you can't perfectly write your thoughts in English.. You're doing a great job actually... =) But what bothers me is the replies that are not even remotely close to the topic... I don't know if you've seen those but I find it really weird...

You kind of have to take the good with the bad on this site. I mean I wouldn't have joined it if they didnt offer to pay me to discuss, and I am sure alot of people are here for that reason. There are infinite number of message boards and forums where we could ask questions and share our opinions, but this one pays us for it...so here we are. As far as the random comments...its fine, people just trying to get paid, and lets be clear...there is NOTHING wrong with that. All we have to do is quietly ignore them, and go on with our nice discussions. They aren't really hurting anybody.

Thanks for your insight... =) I agree with you that there is nothing wrong. I just feel that it digresses from the real topic. I'm not sure if you've seen this... but I saw a really nice discussion and then there was a post that was really nasty and was not even related to the discussion... This is what prompted me to make this. It's fine that people want to get paid but not this way... Or that's what I think anyway... =)

Alot of people here just go read titles without reading the rest of what the title or topic is about. It then results to people posting and responding in nonsense or without relation to the topic on hand. There are aslo times when they dont care to read other replies either which will not help either on responding in a more original way. Posting to them just means more earnings. They are after the number of posts they make rather than having quality discussions or even so related ones.

well it does happen.people reply for the sake of replying to see the number of postings by the side of their user name increase.it is a matter of pride for them.at time we can agree people do make mistakes when they read a discussion and post about it in a different discussion.we can agree to thatany irrelevant discussion can be marked as negative or either reported to the mylot administration.

I think it is rude. There are a few responses where people just basically say that I don't understand what you people are talking about when the discussion is about a website that people frequent. I guess some people just don't understand the point of the whole "conversation" thing. Maybe they were raised in caves.
