Depression kills...

Suicide - I live by my words, I die by my hands.

So, to all those who have this problem..I would never seek to undermine your problem(s); because your own issue(s) will always be bigger than those of anyone else's..and you too. Their problems will never be more important than your problems, to you. Take for example, a friend of mine that committed suicide. He hangs out with us. We know he has some issues with his girlfriend. While the lot of us are worried about other things like how to make more money, if we should get a new car?; we failed to notice that he was slowly losing it. Are you depressed? Do you have suicide tendencies? From experience, when I was feeling down, I could never really pinpoint what was the problem. It was all just confusion, I think.

Depression is a physical condition which affects the thinking process. My aunt had terrible depression and she was found to have a Lithium imbalance. As long as she was on medication she was fien. The problem is when they get off of their medication. When they feel better they tend to quit taking medicine because they perceive they are well.

its when lot of problems occur at the same time and i feel like i'm unable to handle them all at once then i break down into tears and tension settles upon my brows. then i feel the intense stress and start thinking that there's no good reason for me to live. in the recent years, i've faced many such instances where i felt i should take my life. but then my father, a psychiatrist, has taught me since my childhood how to keep my head cool under such circumstances. he taught me not to let the worries and problems control my state of happiness and my life. i try to feed positive things to my sub-conscious mind so it saves me everytime i feel distraught and depressed.

depression is now considered as biological rather than psychological. this means if it is psychological why one would voluntarily indulge in it otherwise it is not good for community and oneself. not the depression even other physical illnesses preceeded by some psychosocial factors. but this doenot mean that this is the cause of the illness.

What an interesting topic. It's hard to relate to this as I have never been depressed except for the normal teenage stuff. That's part of growing up and that's the years we spend learning to cope with it. I have found that my religion and beliefs assist me in handling concerns such as this. Or maybe I'm just confused. Any rate, I have a good, fun life and I love it. Thanks.

You know, i've always wanted to say to people who are depressed "Suck it up." What us outsiders who have not experienced true clinical ddepression don't know is that they can't suck it up. There's an actual imbalance in the chemicals in the brain. Feeling down is not true depression, unless you become non-functional in the world. People who become depressed lose their motivation and desire to act, to live.

I am not, but I do know that it is easily overlooked. We are all so caught up in our own lives that we can't see that someone else is going so low and is in depression. If we are around them everyday, it happens so gradual sometimes that we really don't notice.Alot of people can also put on a good front and make you think things are alright. I think there is more of this than you know.

Well, I know that depression affects very badly: But one has to consider that he/ she has depression. Mostly depressed people can't say or confess about that in first stage! It is better to tell and ask for the solution or medicine or a treatment. Good friendship, supportive attitude of relatives and inspirational readings are helpful. Some time change of place helps to change the attitude and person could be come out from that! After all we all are humans and mind is our tool to deal all the things so we must understand that such kind of occurrence has the disorder of the situation as well as human errors also! And above all LOVE is the answer for the cure of this ailment with a good healing energy treatment!

i was there for many years and took no medication for it..i had to muster all my willpower and try to change the way of thinking that helped to shape my depression and my life around it..we have to take courage to fight our own demons..then the help we need will always follow..it isn't easy..especially if we had difficult childhoods..

I agree that depression kills but if you clearly it is YOU who give to depression and have a tragic effect. Depression may be varied, financial problem, career problem, domestic or social problem etc. Actual reason for depression will vary from person to person and the degree of depression also vary from person to person. I would suggest that you properly analyze the cause of your depression and take proper advise to ratify the problem. First of all check all the cons and pros and try to solve the problem yourself or take advise from your trusted friends - they may be able to guide you better. Lastly also take advise from some social institutions or individuals to find a solution best suited to get you put of depression. Depression kills but it can be cured and eradicated from your life. You have to take action and get out of the clutches of that killer phenomenon.

Most time, its my work..with ontime deliveries and work loads. I try to divert mind on music and i feel better. We need to manage depression, as it is part of life in busy world. But if we concentrate, we can manage it. I does it through my yoga, listening music and going out on vacation.
